They have these so called lockdowns in NSW also. I mean its not like RBT random when they block off an entire road and stop every car and because of the backlog you are stopped for a long time. The idiots in NSW blocked the M1 Pacific Hwy before and tested everybody in every car or truck travelling along it under resourced and under manned it was chaos.
A real PITA if your just going about your lawful business in the correct manner. All because 12 people have died more than same time 2013 when that was the lowest year since since 1924 I mean really how many more modes of transport are available and how many more drivers are on the road now than in 1924. Interesting what figures they use to justify their revenue measures and dont be fooled thats all its about. 1924 really ......just expected to swallow that tripe.

They actually did this on one of Melbournes freeways, can't remember which one, but the police publicly stated that the cameras were to be turned off for maintenance for a couple months from memory, they actually left them on but didn't make that public, there was a large amount than normal of people speeding in that particular section.

I guess we will never know this one, considering anything over 3km/h is considering "speeding" and I highly doubt would impact an inevitable crash any further than the speed limit.

You dont see them on the road because the clowns are actually off road in the bushes beside a dead straight section of highway getting paid to do diddly squat and do target practice with their radar guns Have about as much respect for these sorts as thieves and tax collectors.

I think that these lockdowns actually contravene our constitution. It certainly has that smell about it!!

It doesn't matter if it is 1 k over, they are the ones that have set the LAW, If they believe it is life endangering to break the limit they should also be able to be sued if someone issued with an infringement and injures/kills another party between the time of offence and receipt of the fine. I know it's bull but they can't have it both ways. The govt obviously considers you SAFE enough to continue your journey even though you have blatantly broken the law (in their eyes). |

I did see one HWP have someone pulled over today, I rarely see them in that area, only usually a roadside flash for cash on that road. |

Just on a different note.....does anyone know what the rules are for setting up mobile speed cameras in NSW on a gradient. These mobile cameras are the ones that are operated by a contractor. I know the rules vary from state to state, that's why I'm asking about NSW only.

I often wonder the same thing here in Canberra they park their '***** vans' with cameras on median strips, footpaths and illegally on the side of the road, as if they are above the law.

Yep it works, that happened in the UK and the road toll dropped:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/...accidents.html Plus over there with 3 times the amount of cars on the road etc etc the road toll per 100,000 people is about half than here - even with higher/normal speed limits, everyone does 85-95mph (140 - 150Kph ish) on the motorway anyway otherwise traffic wouldnt move. The speed limit is not issue when it comes to the toll rates (easy to blame/make money on though). |

Radar and or speed cameras calibrated anually?? How can especially radar guns be only calibrated every 12 months? I used to work for a company that supply components to Ford. Most measuring items had to be verified every 3 months and calibrated every 6 months and non critical every 12 months (computer monitored on every torque) I cant see how a gun that can be dropped and mishandled be calibrated just once a year. Also on calibration reports the before and after readings are given. Im sure Gov Co never make these public..
