I don't know exactly what the story is with the Ute. Apparently it was only ever complianced upto 315kw (the old Boss 5.4) when the Miami was being developed they couldn't or didn't improve on that. SO the Ute has stayed at 315kw even for the LE Pursuit. I heard tell of "firewall ratings," which I don't understand because I thought a Ute would be the same as a sedan? |

As for the last XR8 ute not selling, I agree with what others have said, the Boss motor was just not that appealing anymore, especially when compared to the turbo option. Not that there was anything wrong with the 5.4, if anything I found the Boss to be a great motor for daily driving, yeah it wasnt lightning quick like the turbo, but was still good for a bit of fun. The "new" 5L just has that missing appeal that the Boss kind of dropped towards the end. Up to 80 approx so far on the petition in just 4 days, shows some are still interested I think. |

It's very easy to 'sign' a petition which in reality is nothing but a wishlist.
Would any of those 80 people who did actually buy a brand new one? |

I would have. But I'm squeezing into a pursuit instead. So FoA won't give a crap.

I have NFI why they didnt just carry over the current GS ute tune to the next XR8.
I can understand not having 335 in the ute, but the work for the 315 is done. The XR8 Sedan would have the bulk of the certification needed for it. Is there another Euro hurdle from now until 2016?

The petition is too late for me. Sorry guys, I don't like signing anything unless I'm going to act on it. In this case, make a purchase.

I would have bought one , I was waiting for the new Falcon V8 ute. Still waiting patiently hoping. I can understand not the 335KW motor but why not carry the GS 315kW. I was also hoping the new XR6T ute would get the FPV 310 engine but that's not to be either. Us ute buyers are always left out.

A few weeks ago i went into BS stillwill ford in Adelaide chasing the GT-F, unfortunately the 10 they had allocated had been sold, but they were strugling to shift the 2 pursuit utes they had allocated.
Maybe you could give them s ring to see if they still have one. cheers |

Emissions compliance isn't in play. Not until October 2016 anyway...

Hope the petition works...good effort. Can we also do a petition to get rid of all politicians who continue to have a hand in screwing up this great nation....reckon you'd get a few million signatures on that one. |
