Default Standard or modified.

Does putting swaybars, new bushes and coilovers on your chassis make your genuine car- modified or just maintained?

If the specifications of the new components are not factory spec, then yes it is modified.

Keep the original parts and place them back on at a later date or before selling= "original factory standard", as long the car hasnt been modified to fit the AM parts that is!

What ^^ he said.

Anything that can be put back to standard in less than a day without major surgery is ok as long as you keep the original parts.

I would guess most older GT's have aftermarket shocks and bush's..
Depends how far you go?? Super low springs etc is modified..
Or god forbid cut springs..

I mainly see it as maintenance. I wouldn't be putting in lower springs and lowering it. But the front springs are sagged so I thought why not replace with coilovers. I will keep all the parts. But overtime the suspension deteriorates the quickest and needs to be changed out.

If the components fitted are not of OEM specification it's modified not maintained

Weather it's a big deal or not it depends on how much has been done

If it is altered from manufactures spec it is modified. aftermarket parts of OEM spec is not modified but if we are talking classic cars like an XY GT then every attempt to use OEM replacement parts would be desirable. there are XY GT owners who would sell their family into slavery for a set of red wall Dunlop Aquajets , a terrible tyre but genuine GT fitment

This is so true I once sold / swapped a pair of Fo Mo Co sealed beam head lights for an obsean amount of money and got a set of halagin lights on top in the quest for originality,

In the case of my car at the time I think the headlights were the only things original left on the car
