Hi all
Does anyone know the best way to have a pair of wheels/tyres delivered from Adelaide to Melbourne? They are 16 inch steel XT rims with a pair of 225/50/16 Toyo Proxes on them. They need to get from Mt Barker to somewhere in Melb and I am not sure of the suburb. Australia Post doesnt do parcels of this size, and I am not sure which courier would be best to use. Any ideas? Thanks Jac

Don't use Pack & Send, unless you enjoy being ripped off...

Have you tried a courier company like toll or TNT.
That would probably be your best bet. If you go to the Australia post website they have a postage calculator to determine the price of freight. Im pretty sure you wouldn't be able to use them for such a heavy parcel though. It cost my mate $120 bucks to send a bonnet through Toll as a bit of a guide for you.

Problem with wanting to use TNT or Toll is that they won't talk to you unless you have a freight account.

Look in the phone book for a transport company that runs from Adelaide to Melbourne. Any company will do it for you, and it will work out ALOT cheaper if you can organise to get the package picked up at each depot.
Look for family owned business, usually pretty competitive on price, and if something does go wrong you can talk to the owners of the business usually, and they will care if your not happy, unlike someone like TNT. |

I've had a good run with startrack express, good prices and you don't need an account to use them.

Could be worth looking at sending them separately to get under weight limits

Goodwins or Camerons might be able to do it, but you would need to check with them, they both regularly go between Adelaide and Melbourne (every day or every second day I beleive) But dont know if they would be interested in just taking the wheels over. I would try Pack and Send first as they deal more regularly with this sort of thing
