Default Possibility of a VE Coupe / Monaro?

I know Drive say that it's a Comaro with VE sheet metal but who knows?

^^ They wont! That would be a big ask, and they don't have the time / money for a coupe...

No way it's a Coupe (Monaro), it's a Camaro mule.

It's made sense for so long it's not funny but it sounds like we are actually heading towards platform sharing with the US, with Aus taking the engineering lead thankfully.

Sometimes soon we should have Commodore/Camaro etc and Falcon/Mustang etc.

Just imagine all the go-faster godies that will become available then.

We may also get Camaro/Mustangs available at your local Holden/Ford dealer at a more reasonable price.

There won't be a coupe with orion, too much money to develop with minimal sales. But Huntsman on the other hand, well the mustang will be based on it so here's hoping.....

Ls1 folk said some time ago it will be marketed as a camaro here in Aus in 2009. And no it wont have rear lights like the VE (which are terrible imo, except for the calais and SSV)...it will look just like bumblebee .....except with disc brakes ;)

Holden have said they won't have another Camaro.

Secondly, that looks awkward and ridiculous.

Gives a bad name to coupes but the sad thing is people are likely to buy it because it's a Holden. I think I'd rather spend the equivalent on a nice XB/C Coupe and be lauded for a wise decision in style rather than years down the track be laughed at.

What makes you think it would be years down the track till you were laughed at? If you buy a XB/C coupe I'm sure you'd pull a few laughs right now!!!

That car isnt goin to be the next monaro, its bein build here in australia for the yanks, we might be gettin them as chev's in 2009/2010.
Holden has a 2 door car in the works based on the VE, but they spent all the time and money gettin the VE ready, it got put on the back burner, just like the wagon and the utes.

Don't you mean Monaro?
I've heard from a number of people that the Camaro should be here late '08/early '09.

Firstly its the berlina tail lights, the SS-V lights would be fine.

Secondly to all those jumping to say how ugly it is... IT'S A MULE GET OVER IT!
It's no where near a production car, it's wouldn't even be thoght to be, they are hrdly going to drive full on comaro mule's around australia, its the Comaro platform being tested... I.E. VE platform so they chucked an (already revealed) VE body on it (modified) to test it.

The only Monaro is an Australian Built Car...and Holden have made it quite clear that they understand that if there's to be another Monaro it will be Australian built because Aussies won't buy a rebadged chev. just as the yanks wouldn't buy a Pontiac GTO if it remained a Monaro.

A 2 door V8 is great....but Ford just wont bring one out. It would be great to see a 2 door V8 from Ford....even if it was imported.

At the right price id say they would. Camaro is an icon.
You Ford ppl would buy a Mustang at the right price right?

At the right price people will buy anything but realistically if a Camaro came out,I along with the majority of enthusiasts wouldn't buy it ,We would sure as hell admire a what I think is a great looking car and yes they would sell a FEW!!
CAMARO is a CAMARO.....MONARO WILL ALWAYS BE AN AUSSIE BUILT ICON not a rebadged try hard.
And having driven Mustangs new and old ,for the record I'd NEVER by a Mustang...NEVER!!!!!
And as for the ''you Ford people''...My daily driver is a GTS300 Coupe SO THAT'S MY ANGLE!!
