Default Yellow stickers

Yesterday my wife saw a WRX with 2 yellow defect stickers. One vertical and one horizontal. Its said here in WA the angle of the sticker is determined (unoffically) by the amount of crap you give the issuing officer. The more crap, the more angled, and hence harder to remove. But how do you get two?
She said the car was not falling apart or anything and actually looked quite good.

could be ride height, could be engine modifications, or could be something that made it un road worthy like missing a safety feature or something...

i supposed he got two cause He REALLY REALLY ****ed the officer off haha

How does more angle make a sticker harder to remove??

I think he means more things to do to get rw, hence being harder to remove.

When you take your car to the garage to try and get the sticker removed if its on an angle the bloke in the garage knows you have been a lippy git to the police so will (the theory goes) make it harder for you. There can be quite a few things such as the amount of noise your exhaust makes thats really at the discretion of the mechanic so you dont want to make life hard. I have heard of people here trying to peel them off and resticking more upright.

We got told that when my son had his car defected.... More attitude to the defecting officer = more angle on the sticker.

Then when it goes to Regency or the police station to have it removed, the removing officer knows what attitude you had with you and can give it back......

Moral: If you are going to give them attitude about a defect, wait till the sticker is already on!!!

So what would I do in that situation?

Hmmm, maybe the copper suddenly thought of another defect and put a second one on and made it vertical......

You weren't driving a WRX in WA recently were you?

I had a blue with a clown at a Vicroads office many years a go regarding stickers. I copped a defect on the truck I was driving for a cracked L/H windscreen and that’s where they put the sticker. So I got the windscreen replaced and tried to get the old sticker off the cracked screen but couldn’t.

I turned up at Vicroads to clear the defect and this clown demanded that I get the sticker back, as he says that they required it for the paperwork to be completed. It was quite funny really because the more arrogant this bloke got, the more polite I was.

In the end it was sorted out by one of the managers. If you get a defect on a trailer, they don’t even give you a sticker as there’s nowhere they can put them without coming off, so they just record the rego details.

What a surprise - the defender of the faith jumps in without knowing the facts.....

No i wasn't driving a WRX - anywhere
For your info, my son was pulled over at a random drug station (and passed) and his car was inspected - done for oil leaks which were actually a water leak (wet coolant, grease and torchlight), a torn wiper blade (1/2 inch tear at the end) a crack in his tail light which became no lens when the officer ripped it off and a leaky petrol tank (which had been fixed previously but still had that smell)....

It required a new thermostat gasket, a new tail light, a new set of wiper blades and some cleaning of the outside of the tank. And a visit to the Regency Park site for a thourough inspection which it passed with flying colours.

I don't have a problem with the laws - just the zealousness with which they are applied occasionally...... my post was (in the main) said in jest.

As for me being a "doof doof".......... :

But thankyou for being so concerned about my attitude.........no, really........

Funny that. If I knew this bloke was going to be such a smart a$$ about it, I would have.

Are you sure one of the stickers wasn't light green. Yellow = unroadworthy, Green = EPA.

i had a car at work where the cops put the sticker on upside down in front of the driver's face. gave them 2 minutes till expire and then they removed the plates.

i reckon you only get a yellow sticker if you're on your p's or fail the attittude test. the ancient myth goes they rotate the sticker depending on how bad you fail the attitude test. back in the early days we used to run an extension cord out to the car with the kettle and steam the sticker up to remove and refit it back normal. worked a treat.
