I heard a rumour that City Ford Melbourne will be closing down.
Has anyone heard anything? It's sad if it's true. |

Drove past this today hoping to catch a few Mustangs in the window and yep was shocked to see it permanently closed with an empty lot and graffiti all over the display windows.

Yes it's shocking. However I have heard rumours that Melbourne University purchased the entire lot a decade ago and were leasing it out to Ford for the past decade. Melbourne University (who own basically the entire suburb) now wishes to redevelop the site and Ford were forced to vacate.

I got an email a while back from Bayford saying they had bought out City Ford and are going to use it as a service centre only.

Its called Bayford Ford Melbourne now, located in Arden St, North Melbourne.
Looks to be a modern service centre with lounge, Barista coffees and continental breakfasts. |
