Default scam or real gt-40

I was trolling us ebay daydreaming as you do when bored and stumbled onto this bit of kit.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Other-F...US_Cars_Trucks

The ads a bit vague for a car of this price plus wouldn't something like this be sold at a barret-jackson or similar european auction not ebay us

The purchase papers say that the car is "black" whereas this one is white. The second picture looks like a model car, like a hot wheels kind (may just be the way the photo was taken).

Yes; all details match the with details for P/1108 as detailed in the book GT 40 an Individual History and Race Record Ronnie Spain Motorbooks International 2003. e.g. prior owner Thomas Esselborn of Mannheim West Germany and before that David Piper of Surrey, Colour White. It was originally one of two left-over chassis sold in 1971 to Gulf/JWA (when Ford closed the race project after the 1967 season,John Wyer and John Willment formed J.W. Automotive Engineering Ltd., (JWA) to continue racing).

Ebay is an unusual place to sell such a car though. Maybe the fees arent as high as Sotherbys and the like. World wide exposure too.
