Hey guys (sorry if this is in the wrong place I don't know) I have an au xr6 manual pretty clean car I have this mate who recently discovered rotarys (both still I'm green ps hence the ***** cars haha) the kid seriously dosnt shut up about the ugly turds! What would win in the average drag? From what I've looked up on them they only have 140hp and basically no torque, he thinks it will leave me everyday of the week, he's been bragging on and on about this car he's going to get I havnt said anything yet just incase rotarys have some magical power I'm not aware of but, who would win?? Please help

Take it to the drags and find out down to the 1/1000th of a second mate.

Neither is going to set any land speed records. The 13B has more potential at less cost. Stock they are about the same in a straight line (Ford should have a slight edge), however the being relatively old, the condition of the engine will have more to do with it than what they were doing when new. Same with going around a corner, the Mazda should have the edge when new but this old, it can be anyones guess (not to mention drive skill).

Let's just hope he doesn't take his dad's Aurion out for a spin. Then you're in trouble.

Non turbo 13b would be a S4 or S5 RX7. Slow without the turbo and porting.

At most, when brand new, he'd have around 109-119kw and 180-200nm of torque.
I think the 0-100 on one of them would be around 8 seconds, maybe longer being how old it is, apex seals etc. Your Falcon, presuming it's still tight and healthy, should quite easily keep up/beat it, handling wise could be another question, considering the RX-7 is very light. |

Listen to his idle, that's going to tell you who wins. If its nice smooth and relatively quiet, you should beat it. If its loud and lumpy, your gonna be in trouble.
They do have a magical power, turning lots of fuel into noise, and sometimes turning lots of fuel into noise and huge HP!

I love rotors, but I will never own another one lol.
I've never owned a car that was so proficient at vaporising cash. Was hell fun but. What series is it? If its a 1,2,3 that someone's dropped a 13b into you could be in trouble. Might not be powerful but they weigh nothing. Series 4/5 were comparative porkers lol. I'd love a fd with a ls3.... |

I'd say these two will come down to driver and car condition if stock. AU in a straight line just but don't do anything silly and keep it on a track where you can really keep it clean!

Does it have a towbar? You'll need it to tow Him back from the drags. Probably.
