sorry guys cant find a bit for ford festiva so i thought i put it in here and hopefully get some help. i have a 1996 ford festiva trio that doesnt have power steering but i want to put it on. i know the glxi or whatever the other model is has power steering. anyway i was wondering if the trio has the power steering rack and you can just fit the power steering or i have to get a whole new rack? how hard and how much apporx will it be to fit power steering to my car.

The misses has a 99 model, i think you would need the whole lot mate, price it out is the best way at the wreckers

surely they wouldnt make two differnt steering racks for the same car just different model.

You need to replace the rack. Manual and power racks are totally different internally.

Not without checking prices of parts. Ring around a few wreckers a find out. If you cant do it yourself, factor in 2 or 3 hours labour and a wheel alignment.
A rough guess would be $750 to $800 all up. |

Mate I got a 99 Trio S which has had power steering fitted before I got it. Had the rack overhauled recently and the guy told me it was out of a Mazda 121. He ordered Festiva seals for it but they wouldn't fit. That's when he realised it was Mazda. I guess the pump and hoses would be Mazda too. Hope this helps....
