Cheap and safe are words that dont usually go together. I assume you want it safe if youre willing to transport it that far.

Search for a thread on car transport, theres a couple, and they are full of horror stories from big name carriers, and little ones that subby the work to the larger ones anyway.

VIP, Toll/Ceva are two to stay away from anyway.

Obviously they wouldnt be in business if they stuffed every car. Its not so much they will stuff your car, thats a risk with anyone and 5hit happens, its how they handle the problem in the event something does happen that counts.

Autotrans worked out for a guy in perth buying a car from me in SA $600 plus tow to and from depot around $150. Not bad for the right car.

After reading that thread I am horrified

Car was only transported from Melbourne to Shepparton though - VIP did a good job thankfully. But they did tell me they were sub contracting it out as it was the day before Good Friday. Luckily he wasnt a cowboy!

Still freaking out after reading that thread - I was desperate to get my car asap
