???What are you on???
Moved into my first house 1991, paid it off by 2000, as well as bought investment property, then build 50 square 5 bedroom home in Sydney with three car garage and workshop (I think you were living at home then), now building my next house on 3 acres near the beach slightly bigger than the last. Nearly finished now last valuation a lot more than a Phase 3

Funny thing is my daughter seems to have more interest in my XB's than my son, will see how he goes when he gets older, he is only 10, and his main interest is riding dirt bikes. They may reverse their roles a bit later on.

He's only 11. But as I was saying before, it's a generational exposure thing- he's not absolutely a car nut, but does appreciate the sound of an old clevo, the feeling of getting thrown back in the seat at the change of a gear and knows the difference in the year models. Example, a schoolmate said gee your mums got a nice mustang - he corrected him. The kid kept arguing so I explained that he prob thought that as the nostrils are very similar and that's the difference of being brought up around them as opposed to seeing something similar in a magazine. So now he just smiles at his classmate if he keeps on at it. I wonder if the other kid tho grows up to buy a mustang from his schoolyard memories LOL

But, what does this have to do with the thread? As I started earlier I know when you want to argue as you post irrelevant shi!t, going in circles and start exaggerating. Also, did you buy another block of land near a beach? Well done, never knew that, after all that effort of building that big shed on the block of land you had that is half an hour drive from the beach? Wheres the new one? I'm a fanboy for some of the E series (EB GT/ED XR8 Sprint) , the AU (in particular T series) and FG (XR6T/F6), then the Euro Fords like the XR5T/RS and the Fiesta ST. V8s don't really do it for me, yes I did list some V8 Falcons but thats about it, I'm more of a Euro/Jap fanboy, high tech, variable valve timing, high RPM or forced induction is my thing. Lets say I won the $20M Tattslotto draw, I still wouldn't spend $500K on an XY Falcon, $500K buys you a nice Lamborghini/Ferrari, not some 4 door sedan whose claim to fame was being fastest around a mountain 45 years ago. Then again I wasn't far off the mark at least 50 is closer to 10 than it is to 750 hey. On your comment that people generally have no interest in what they can't afford . Not sure about that. I have a keen interest in commercial aircraft but theres no way in hell I could afford to shell out half a billion to buy an A380 ...lol. It's all about prioritising and where a P3 comes in the pecking order of things one desires or whether one is prepared to pay good coin to acquire one. I'd have a guess and say there's plenty on the forums who could raise enough cash to buy one or two, but it would mean having to sell other assets to raise the cash to do it . Most wouldn't want to do that. Guy I work with has a red wine collection in his cellar worth as much as 3 P3's and couldn't care less for Aussie classic cars. I don't get that one either but each to his own.

I love my old V8's, but have no illusions of grander about them, I know for a fact that most people could not give a single HuHa about some old V8 Falcons. If I won the 20million or even 50 million a phase three Falcon would not be on my shopping list either. There would be a list longer than the 50 million could ever buy in front of a Phase 3, but thats just me, others may feel different.

Have you thought about trying to score a repairable write-off and restoring it yourself to save some money?

Love the comments saying "they will die off and nobody will want them anymore"? Haha great, that means when 'nobody' (fantasy world) wants them they should be like $500 right? The law of supply and demand would suggest that. Great, means I will be able to buy a couple for next to nothing.
In all seriousness I have plenty of friends with classic cars with young kids and those kids already are fixated on the cars their father drives and calling dibs on it already. There will be plenty of demand for these cars to go around in time. Price only suggests that people aren't willing to spend that much in the current economic status. |

Bottom Line ......It ain't about the money. Its simply a desire , want , need whatever you want to call it. If you want some thing bad enough it becomes your oxygen. Some people like what they like...others don't. Personally I would take a Phase 2 over a 3 any day and twice on Sunday but thats me

Eldest boy loves my Charger, but if he had an open checkbook he'd buy an XA-XC of some sort...that's what he likes. Youngest son would buy a Kombi. Daughter would buy a brand new twin cab of some sort...she likes old cars, but just can't see the point of owning one. Her husband is doing up an XT ute though. These are kids who have grown up in a car-nut household since they were born. Our family friends had things like an XYGT and Monaros so they were regularly exposed to old Australian stuff. They like old cars...they just don't want an XYGT in particular. Simple as that. Most young people now are into imports, WRX's, Skylines, GT86's, etc. Forty year old Australian muscle cars just don't figure in most of their minds. Times change. I remember a Shannons auction guy saying about "when the Aussie supercar bubble burst" that he knew something had happened when they had an immaculate and original HO at an auction for a million bucks and it was passed in...the bidding stopped at something like $500,000 and wouldn't go any higher. The owner advertised it for $750,000 and still didn't get a bite. Eventually the "real" value of everything settles down to where it's supposed to be. |

If i won lotto id be buying the best 150% concourse correct , rarest colour combo Phase 3 i could get my hands on.
Then stuffing it full of drop tank , roll cage , a set of simmons and the nastiest blower around. Then i would be attempting to physically blow the tyres off it whipping down the street to grab a carton of milk. |
