I was very surprised at how fast the XY was on the circuit considering its tyres.

Go the falcons!!! Very nice to see the 2 fords come out on top in this challenge, but i agree all the 1/4 times were pretty slow for the work that has been done to them.

I suspect a lot of it has to do with the track surface and driver skill.

very much to do with having to drive them on street tyres only...

the xy has over 700rwhp and on street tyres you cant exactly rev it to 7000rpm and expect it to grip on a basic strip of concrete...

so the power needs to be fed in very slowly...

the owner is quite experienced as he used to race a tubbed XF that ran into 8's, so driver skill wasn't a factor in that case...

in fact i think most of the high power cars posted slow times because of the conds they were governed to race them in.

Oh, I'm definitely not denigrating the XY or its owner in any way.

I do like that they force them to run on street tyres, run pump fuel and race in "normal" conditions.

Hey all. I'm the owner of the blue ford laser. You guys would notice it silver. It has been on a couple of ford cruises in Brisbane and there is a write up on this car on your forum from ages ago.

I'm just writing to say a few things about what's going around about the laser. I did not do as well as I hoped in the show as the car was still being put together on arrival for the show. I had stock gearbox, stock lowered suspension, stock brakes and an open wheel diff.

I was just happy to show off my project and meet guys like George and Sash who are great guys. If anyone wants to know about this car or talk to me about anything I will reopen my post on the laser. Hopefully I can stop the bagging out on the car.

Enjoy the series.

I think you will find he was just running XR stockies on the back. Not drag tyres?

Why no mention of the attractiveness of Samantha Stevens? I thought this was integral to the show?

THanks for the update.

Often persons bagging your car is just jealous. Although not my cup of tea, its definitely looks as good as any other enthusiasts motor car.

BTW, what sort of power does it have? Shame you couldn't make it a Ford Trifecta at the quarter mile strip.

Excellent.

Perhaps you can give some behind the scenes info after each episode has screened.

BTW, how did you get onto the show in the first place?

Mmm, very nice she is! She was the one highlight of the dreadful Car Show on channel nine with Glen Ridge.

Glad they brought her in to replace the guy(name escapes me from Fast 4's mag) that they had in the first series.

I must say it is an experience as you could say to meet Luffy. He is one that speaks his mind and you can easily be insulted by what he says.

As for how to get on the show, well I saw an add on Fox advertising for competitors so I thought I would try as an unique car and to try and open up to the FWD market.

I was acually the underdog especially with my car not ready but drove it anyway, but it was funny that the attention went onto NZ and he all of a sudden became the underdog when he had the package from the start.

Anything you want to know I will answer all......

I will down size the pictures and I will show you what happened to a competitors car. He unfortunately wrote her off. Apparently might be able to be restored after getting a new body.

Yea he said things like wild child etc when he drove mine in Serious V8's..
When he was interviewed he said the old "EL" taxi goes well...
Umm?? We all said "it's an E.B"...
Ideal for this type of clip though ...Much in the mold of John Force .. Haha
