Good to see some realism for a change in an ad other than the obligatory "one lady owner", as if that somehow means the car is treated better than if it was a male driver.
Ad was posted by Steve. Wonder if his partner knows? Quote:

Clean sweep for the Republicans
- won the popular vote - won the electoral college - won the senate - won the house Unfortunately an early sign of the Establishment fighting back, the departing Mitch McConnell has managed to thwart the incoming government by having a never Trumper installed as Senate majority leader. Still many RINOs to weed out in the next 4 years.

Not sure if it belongs in here, or the “What are you listening to?” thread, or in the “I hate that!” thread, but I’ve had an earworm since early today of Kate Ceberano singing Bedroom Eyes. Sugary, soft and pure high notes; she really was a sweetie in her early days of fame.

I booked in my leave from 11/12 to 15/1. I'm hoping to do a day trip down the coast to wet a line before it gets clogged up during school holidays. I have not been down there for about 7-8 years

By now, I had been planning to be down along the coast, but a hospital visit ruined that.

Picked up my wheels from Wheel Worx (https://wheelworx.com.au/repairs/)
yesterday, and wow, what a difference $275 per corner can make. Outstanding is the way I would describe it. I don't have a pic of the worst wheel before shot, it had a major chunk missing out of the edge where it hit a square gutter, I'm guessing, and you would not know. They all came up as new. Big thanks to Joe and Jamie the painter, for a flawless result. I am 1000% fussy and I can't fault their workmanship. If you need your wheel(s) fixing, go and see these guys. Yes they are open Saturday mornings for drop off and collections only. Any hoo, You be the judge: Cheers, One Man

Put a set of numberplates on reserve today.
Nope, not for me, my plates follow my car. There was consultation so my kid when he gets old enough to own a car, they are for him but the combo is just right. Not vanity plates. But 5 character , so 2 letters, 3 numbers. Old skool like mine, they're on reserve so he can choose any colour he wants provided its what i say, so white on black. |

Late lunch of coleslaw, pickled jalapeños and sliced bocconcini on wholemeal Turkish bread, tick.
And the workshop apprentice finished replacing his valve stem seals (BMW N46 motor, not an easy job in situ) all by himself. We’re all pleased by that - car should be running by next weekend. My related task is getting the Valvetronic rig ready to put on. |

These have been my breakfast of late...............Homemade Acai Bowl.
I first tried these a local cafe that I used to frequent on weekends before work. It was all about a moment of bliss before spending the day answering the same questions about lemon trees and why xyz wasn't growing, newsflash, plants need to be watered more than once a fortnight. Anyway, I would drive down in my shiny red Mustang nice and early, park it out front, then enjoy a strong coffee (or two) and something light to eat. These Acai bowls were on the menu, then disappeared, maybe I was the only one ordering them. All this stopped when Covid lockdowns hit and I fell into a new hobbit..............sleeping longer. And before you all attack me for my supposed hippie super food diet, I just like the taste, sweet but not overly so, a little tang from the banana. And they are easy to make, all you need is a blender. 1+ Handful of Acai Cubes (Frozen) 1 Handful of Blueberries (Frozen) 1 Medium Banana (Fresh, Frozen is doesn't blend well) 200ml Milk of choice (Almond is best, but I've been using full fat dairy) Cram it all in a blender, banana first, blitz till smooth. Then top with fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, coconut to top. Happiness in a bowl.

15 days after the election and I still get great joy watching the videos of the losers having mental breakdowns.

Yesterday evening, showing my 80-odd year old mother how to finish supermarket tortillas in a hot, barely greasy pan.
I had to put the oil out of reach, else it would have been shallow-fried Mediterranean style in a quarter inch of the stuff. |

Bought some paint & accessories 4 weeks ago for a job coming up this week, checking last night I realised the paint mob forgot to give 1 litre of paint out of 4 paint tins, silly me for not checking after purchase, but upon return to shop today all was sorted, they had the mixed paint sitting there and upon checking receipt they pointed out I was double charged for a product, refund thank you, made feel good today.
Cheers |
