My dearest booked herself a seven week US holiday with one of the KGB girlfriends.
Assumed that she didn’t need a visa for the US, travelling on an Aussie passport (not Russian)!!! Moreover, this problem was not identified until just over two hours prior to departure. I’d dropped her off at the terminal and was 35km away… Already had a migraine from heat, exertion - stress didn’t help it ease. Literally about 50 minutes before take-off, the expedited application was greenlit (airline check-in counter helped as best they could, but weren’t going to board her in case it got declined at the other end). What a circus. |

You’ve needed ESTA’s for as long as I can recall landing in the USA CB.
The agent or booking office should have advised this in the first place. Easiest visa to get online. Yep it gets approved pretty quick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, I don’t know what she was thinking! One of her besties has PR there, maybe she thought that affected things.
Can laugh about it a little now. Last night when I was looking down the barrel of seven weeks’ relative calm torpedoed just like that - it wasn’t so funny. |

I thought our 2 governments just signed some agreement 2 weeks ago that didn't need us to get visas or something to make travel easier.
7 weeks of batching it, nice.

I got to try out the just-opened “Airport Link” pieces of road. After hours, they feel slow and empty; the limit is 60 but could easily go ten or twenty up.

Man oh man. My kid texts me this arvo asking do i want to know his story of the day? I replied sure.
Well, not a good one. A kid at his school nicked a phone of another kid, (i did not tell my kid i know how to do this) did a factory reset and got busted trying to sell said stolen phone. Theif only copped a 3 day suspension. Rightful kid owner lost all their saved funny cat memes. So im preassuring my kid into backing his phone up. Not to his school laptop but his gaming tower. He lives in the housos of south windsor. Theft is quite a thing there. |

I spent the whole day in the yard weeding and mowing. I thought I would treat myself to a spa bath.
I filled it up and water was dirty as so no way I was going to dip in that but couldn't get the jets going. I loosed up the pipe to pump the air out but no good except water in the garage. What I eventually figured out it won't start with the heater on but the problem is it defaults to that so got to be quick to turn it off and she fires up. But the plumping is leaking and I'm like **** this and just had a shower. Geez I hate that! I think I need someone out to take a look at it and probably a new pump but $$$ so can go on the backlog. I have more important shit I have to sort out before that |

Found an email from my mate and ex work colleague today in my spam folder. He'd sent it six days ago. It was his end-of-winter update. Given he sends out updates at the end of every season, I was aware of his health issues. But I hadn't appreciated just how dire things were/are. In this edition, he revealed he is in palliative care and has stopped taking his combative medication. He also revealed that his palliative care nurse gave him between two weeks and two months. And that was three weeks prior to him sending the email!
I've text him to see if he's up for a chat, but I'm yet to hear anything back. I hope I haven't left my run too late. Gotta say, it's rattled me a bit. I've been down and edgy all day. Remember to keep reaching out to those that are important to you, folks, no matter how far away they are.

Thats rough.
Years back, the dockmaster in a building i worked in, his name was Jolly and was known as Dr Jolly. Most thought that was because dockmaster.... but no, he was a doctor in India but his credentials were not recognised in Australia so he got his security licence. Anyrate, one day he was visibly unwell. So i offered to give him a lift home as he didn't live far from me and saves him the walk to and from the train station. He said no, but towards the end of shift asked if the offer was still valid. I dont make offers that arent valid. So gave the bloke a lift home, he said thanks more then once, once is enough for me. He didn't return to work. Well, turns out un diagnosed diabetes. His co workers told me he went blind not long after, then a few months after that passed. That was a bit rough too. |

One thing I noticed straightaway, these Air Pod Max are significantly heavier than the Sony and Sennheiser they replace, with the casing made of aluminum not plastic. Why Sky Blue? Well, other than I like blue, they were 21% cheaper than Space Grey or Silver. And if these don't go the distance, I'll shoot a video of me smashing them with a sledge axe. Question is, should I do that with the Sony's?

When my Friday the 13th went something like this...
Deliver all but 2 deliveries. The last 2 require me to use a manual pallet jack, as the 2 electric ones were needed by other drivers. The pallet jack I was given is low on oil, (un be known to me) thus not staying "pumped up" for more than 5 seconds after jacking the pallet up. Bugga, shit and a whole lot of other naughty words said... This meant one of three options:
So... instead of me reversing to the raised loading dock, as you normally would, I parked along side, and used the walkie fork lift to unload. Hmm, SORTED!!! Well so I thought. For only the second time since working for this company, (5+ months) I decided to have a lunch break... at like 3.45pm. C'mon, I WAS at a bakery and fangin for a feed. Fed and watered. Tick. Drive on for another 50 mins to a pub to deliver some Coopers beer cartoons. Now I know this is going to suck because the pallet jack is rooted. I didn't think this would be a prob as most pubs have pallet jacks. Bump bar. WRONG! So now there was my dilemma. Again, take the booze back to depot and fail to deliver, or, get creative. I opted for option 2, as usual. I asked the young bottle shop person if they had a pallet jack I could use. "No, sorry. We only have a sack truck". Awe sheeit bro (insert kiwi accent here). Meaning I have to hand unload the last job of the day. Bugga bugga shit. She says she doesn't mind giving me a hand. I said thanks, and graciously accepted her offer. I grabbed the sack truck head over to the truck, load the sack truck with 5 catoons of coopers, tilt it back while supporting the top carton and the base of the sack truck didn't move at the same time as the back rest. So the second to bottom carton fell off the sack truck and broke a stubbie. Fck Fck Fck, major head Fck. Getting angry, very tired, wanna go home bad attitude coming on big time.. She comes over to assist. I spot a wheel barrow in front of the shed and thought... hmm. that'll work. So she offered to be on sack truck duties, and I took a page out of DFB FGXR6's work day... Long day. Tick. All deliveries delivered. Tick. Got the manager of the pub on the phone to explain what happened, and, offered to pay for the broken bottle. "No. Don't worry about it. It's only a $4 stubbie of Coopers". Offered to pay for the carton. "No, don't worry about it". So who said black Friday is a thing... One Man

The moron I spotted on the way to work this morning driving a Kobota mini excavator approaching a main road. With one hand on the controls, he was looking down reading something on his phone.

I was stuck behind this person for 14 minutes... he was trying to turn right onto South road Edwardstown in peak hour. Not possible.. unless you have red and blue lights on top of your go go mobile.. he finally got the idea and decided to turn left. The sticker on his back window says it all... Time was 4.55pm Wednesday arvo. Yep. This qualifies as a Geez! I hate that! moment for sure.

Three weeks in and she’s cleaned out her holiday savings already. I pretty much expected this, so more a chuckle than a grumble at the requested topping-up.
If she smoked chop-chop rollies instead of legit tobacco, the initial nest egg would have been much fatter. |

... When you misjudge the gap between the truck and tree... on a rainy day, then waiting for the inevitable phone call from the "boss" after sending him this pic:
Bugga.. Oh well, on a positive note, I got to have a day off. Man, it was SOOO good to take a day. I have been pumping out 57 - 65 hour 5 days weeks lately. I was seriously tired. Hopefully it will be fixed by Monday. I'm in a much newer truck today, not sure I'm going to like it, but, hey, tis what it tis. Cheers guys, One Man

It's been a bit windy around here the last few weeks. A couple of my panels got blown out last week and I was able to to pop it all back in no worries.
I can't remember when but it got blown out again this week but this time it actually bent the panels. I look around and no one else has blown out panels anywhere! I think it's dodgy so now have to go through the body corp to sort it since I was invoiced through the body corp and have no details but surely no way this is acceptable for a colorbond fence, the sheet barely has any meat under the rail. My brother literally crashed a motorbike into my mums fence and didn't go through! I hate that |

Visiting my daughter in Karratha and they lent me their Dmax. Driving along following another 4wd ute who was having trouble driving straight (pi$$ed or on his phone) and he went to the edge of the road, flicked up a stone and chipped the screen which then proceeded to crack.
Now up for $500 excess for a new screen through no fault of mine.

Ball peen hammer emulates a rock quite well, much safer, was shown that trick from a panel beater with an old friends' car being accessed for a claim.

In my "case" I claimed a oncoming passing truck flicked up a stone and cracked my windscreen. Fact of the matter was... I had a small chip, and after accidentally tapping on it with the base of a rubber handled claw hammer, it developed into a nasty top to bottom crack. BUGGA! Now I'm with Shannons, who incidentally are owned by AAMI, also have one free glass replacement per policy, per year, at no additional cost. So as the other great guys have said, check it. One Man.

Geez! I hate when someone borrows a tool without asking first, then asks if I minded AFTER borrowing and using it!
Then, said tool was returned absolutely filthy! The observant among us will note that I like to keep my tools clean and well looked after. Especially when said tool cost me in excess of $2500. Buy nice things, keep them nice things. Then, also posted in the mowing thread, this was the same person as above.............................. The borrower needed a to make a single cut on a large sticky wattle stump that he managed to otherwise cut down with a smaller Echo chainsaw. I assumed that single cut would be a somewhat safe bet to lend out my basically brand-new Stihl MS 271. WRONG! That "sticky" wattle basically ruined a brand-new bar and chain, which I ultimately replaced at my own cost. On the rare occasion that I need to borrow something, it will go back to the owner in the same or better condition than when I got it................not worse! And if something did happen while in my care, I would sort it out before return. I don't know, maybe I have my expectations too high. Public Service Announcement - NEVER, EVER, LEND YOUR CHAINSAW! NEVER LEAVE YOUR PRESSURE WASHER WHERE SOMEONE CAN BORROW IT WITHOUT YOUR PRESSENCE OR KNOWLEDGE!
