Sounds like Germany in the 1930s to me.

Imagine if they profiled black people or gay people? I'm guessing it wouldn't be so fantastic then?

VLAD transcends politics. Their implementation has nothing to do with controlling bikie gangs, but everything to do with the further erosion of our rights and freedoms.

Bleije whilst in opposition was against VLAD type laws. I don't see him as being hypocritical, I see him as just taking his orders from his masters like a good little pleb.

I think there is more to it all why the QLD gov is going down this track.
I think they have to but a lot of people maybe most of the bikies are coping it a bit hard. but hey there is the morons that caused it all and they have to be stopped.
It's the young generation that are the big problem this lot grew up with no discipline at home or school, why because a socialist indoctrination of wind bags for the last 20 years has pushed there off with the pixies dribble, ya can't cain a brat kid, parents can't discipline a out of control brat, the gov support brats disobeying good parents and you end up with a spoilt brat thinking he can get away with anything they want, then you add drugs to a fool like that and you have a total moron on your hands and the problem is this lot know the Law and they play it for all they are worth.
Look at the building industry the cops are dealing with the criminal element we have there and it is bad as i have come across this type of low life criminal mob as well. i say go for it as i have had a gut full of them pushing others around dictating their crap and i will put up with any inconvenience any day to get rid of it. it has to be done ! why should i have to come to the point of having to threaten low life criminal morons who try to rip me off.
There is a mafia growing stronger in QLD and it's got to be stopped.

Kind of hard to comment on that video as we have not seen conversations held between him and the Police on the past. Is the video made out to show excessive force against the innocent individual...yes!

In my opinion, I think his number plate may be registered in the police ANPR system for some reason which would explain why he keeps getting pulled over.

My old man was dawdling across the Forgan Bridge in Mackay in his old Toyota Crown in 1997 when the bikie shooting went down, he had cops all over him trying to get him out of the road.
2 things seem to be clear,
Little Johnny's gun laws haven't stopped the criminal element getting guns and using them. Recent haul at Cania [ next to where I used to live ] of hundreds of guns of all sorts is evidence of that. Also the daily shootings in Sydney have shown just what a failure the gun laws are.
Cops always seem to be years behind the pace. So much time, taxpayers money and manpower expended on traffic control that there's no effort in keeping up with the real criminals.
Howard didn't want to take the criminals on and neither do the cops.
Both find it easier to punish the law abiding citizens for minor infractions than to actually get serious about crime. Most of the real criminals haven't even got bikes, they're just members of gangs. I've worked and lived amongst the Finks and Rebels, they're not stupid enough to go blasting down the street on a Harley, an old Hilux ute would be much less likely to get pulled over by the law.
You don't get to own expensive speed boats, luxury fast European cars and waterside mansions on the north end of the Gold Coast by sitting around drinking beer and riding a HD. You get there by criminal activity.

Once again the cops make a big show of pulling over a few bikies rather than take on the hard men behind the scenes.

Sorry but that bloke made the rod for his own back by being an arrogant @$^^#& - and nobody runs around with a camera on without expecting (or encouraging) something like this to happen.

While the new laws may seem a bit steep (I dont live in QLD and I dont ride a bike so havent really been paying attention to them), doing things like this doesn't make the police look bad - it makes the goose holding the camera look like a jumped up, arrogant trouble making idiot.

The thing is that he didn't get the camera out until after being pulled up, so the police had no idea he was going to be a arrogant @#$%#$%.

Being a dick is not a crime in itself, plenty of dicks getting around in BMWs etc. people should have an expectation of being left alone unless they are doing wrong.

Then there comes the issue of manpower required to address this. 6 cops?? They could have been doing real police work. Next thing we will need to recruit more cops because we don't have enough.

It's all well and good to say fly under the radar but you shouldn't have too.

And now we have the latest thing where sparkys need a police check to get their license renewed. Next all tradies...

It makes me a bit cross .....

So the bikies are finally treated like the modified car community? Personally it's a means to an end and is bound to happened. General public are happy to give up some of their rights for the perception of law enforcement. Media have been on a campaign of "Crime is out of control" which is partly true depending on what statistics you try to listen to. It was only a matter of time before a politician was elected on "law and order" issues. Happend in NY in the early 90's. Been going their for 20+ years, it has changed immensely during that time."Public crime" is extremely low compared to what it was in the 80's however you don't want to get on a cop's bad side, he/she can ruin your life with little chance of recall. The price most of us a willing to pay for the perception of peace. I know most of Nazi comment a meant as a joke, but it's nothing like Hitlers Germany or Stalin's USSR and will never ever get there in our life time at least.

the way he was treated is fairly standard for SEQ motorcyclists in the current climate. they busted a bunch of unlicensed tourists on scooters and ran them through the ringer all the same. they also heavily fined the scooter rental joint.

Can be changed though.
If the majority of the residents in QLD. do not like these laws.
The laws can be changed, with a change of government, in the next election.

Police are doing their job.
Their job is to enforce the law, the government of the day provides.

If you in a minority that does not agree with the law.
Go find a nice place, where there is a majority that agrees with you.

Likely to be more than 6 officers at the scene as there was at least 6 patrol cars. Aren't they required to have 2 officers to a patrol car?

It seems like a lot of people who aren't from Queensland don't see a problem with this iron-fist type of governing and legislation. There are many negative long term effects that those people disregard. That's easy to do when you and your kids aren't the ones who will be subject to those effects.

Mate, I know you probably meant it as a joke, but when they start executing Gypsies, Black people, Jews, Gay's, Industrialists, dissidents and communists then you can compare the 2.

It's very, very different.

Firstly, you have the right to complain about it.

A change in government won't result in VLAD being repealed. The organisation that wanted these "laws" enacted can't be voted out... the bureaucracy. They are accountable to no one.

Like what has already been said the bloke was a smart *** and wanted attention so he got it. I couldn't care what any of you say, at the moment I support the laws. If they start abusing them, then I'll change my tune. I ride a bike in Queensland and haven't yet been pulled up, granted it's not a harley. But people are trying to say it's every bike and that's simply not true.

This.

And if you're going to be a effwit and draw attention to yourself then you deserve the other side of the law.

im not against them cracking down on criminals, but everyone has seen the movies about future societies where everyone dresses the same ,looks the same ,drives the same vehicles ignores everyone and does their own thing thru fear etc, this is where this type of society starts with laws like these, laws never get removed only added and modified that is why there are some stupid laws that if the gov wanted to enforce from centuries ago they could.we dont need new laws just enforce existing .people might call this paranoia but im sure thats what our grandparents would call the world we now live in as well.some of those questions that female officer asked i find offensive/intrusive,he should have asked her what color bra she was wearing.people have lost respect for police for various reasons ,mine is being broken into and they wouldnt even turn said try crime converters, crashed into by a unlicensed international driver and didnt want to turn, all too hard work but travel a couple of ks over the limit or not have a seatbelt on and they see dollar symbols.to me they r oxygen thiefs

Explain what you mean a bit more. Surely if the majority of people want the laws to stop and a political party comes in with a promise to stop them. Then why can't they be stopped? They were brought in by the party in power now, why can't a different party in power stop them? Sorry politics is not my thing so I'm puzzled at what you said.

We can vote out the local member of Parliament, but we have no say about who run the various govco departments. These people aren't accountable to the electorate and no matter how much we carry on and protest, they still remain in their position of power.
I'll use public transport in Victoria as the example. The public transport system was privatised in the late 90's. With the exception of new extra trains being purchased, the train network has deteriorated despite different companies running the trains. The reason is the bureaucracy. Connex and Metro had no choice but to hire the same muppets that presided over the transport network for the past 30 odd years, it was a condition of the contract to run the trains. This clause was put in by these same bureaucrats.

In a nutshell, the pollies are but the public face of Govco Pty Ltd

So you're saying Newman didn't bring in these Laws? He sounded like he dictated he did. And won't the bureaucrats have to take orders from the premier in charge, like Bleiji is now? Sorry mate I'm not trying to debate here, I'm interested in learning something new.

i'd like to know where some of you get the statistics from, which demonstrates that the "majority" of the general public agree to these obviously discriminatory laws that were never revealed at election time. this government was not voted in on one single issue, more like voted in on a protest vote against the socialist government QLD had had for too long and may well be the reason so much crime existed down the south east corner. money talks, when you're broke.

Now I can understand the attitude of the police in QLD, the bike rider was nothing but a smart *** who shows no respect for authority, if he did he might have got some back.
