Default Pretty bloody obvious why he lost control! Da!

Oh yes - Adelaide IS that dangerous!

Tonight on the way home - hear of another chase! Some farkwit in a stolen Subaru WRX. That car caught fire - then he hopped into a patrol car to do it all over again!

I believe a lot of it does have to do with the ABORIGINAL gang of 49.

Cops catch the mongrels and the judges then feel sorry for the poor unfortunates : :

Decent people are getting very tired of all this bullsh..!!

And your mate driving fast down Lansdowne terrace is the pits. How long before this farkwit kills somebody?

Rocket.

I am not having a go at you.

Just very, very angry about maniac drivers. People have already been killed by these idiots who have no regard or respect for people or property.

Drive carefully - please.

Hooning is when you do it in a VN commie or a ricer with cannons.

Zinging is the same action done in a much more expencive/exclusive car like a ferrari, lambo etc.

The can and sometimes do impound hoons cars and take away hoons drivers license.
They never impound "zinging" cars. Heck most times the drivers of "zinging" cars (Zingers?) don't even get a ticket. case a few years ago when young P-plater was clocked at ~200km/hr in daddy's high end bimmer and got off scott free. **

**(Anton Faber-Castell, all of 17 years old and newly licensed, drove his father's BMW 740i on Sydney's 100kph speed limited F3 freeway at an astonishing 200kph and was clocked twice at that speed by police radar. He only held a probationary driving licence, which meant that he was not permitted to drive over 90kph at any time. Normally probationary drivers automatically lose their licences if they are caught driving at any speed over the posted limit. The maximum penalty for driving at such an excessive speed as 200kph is a $2200 fine, nine months in jail and licence disqualification for three years. However Faber-Castell's penalty was even more astonishing. He was given a 12 month good behaviour bond, his conviction was not recorded and he was ordered to pay $56 in court costs and incredibly, the magistrate even allowed him to keep his licence. )

Excellent, 20-21 yrs old in a high powered ferrari, bet the insurance does not cover a driver of that age.

At least it may teach him a little about responsibility.

By the way, the father is completely at fault, he gave his son the keys.

Complete moron, needs to be locked up for as long as possible. To do that sort of damage the speeds would have been insane, the chassis on those things is not weak, to carve up all that CF and aluminium monocoque is a lot of force.

you will find that most cases the guys who own ferrari's have them under a group business policy and usually cover their kids as well

happened to an acquaintance when he wrote off his fathers 355 berlinetta back in 1996

he was 21 and insurance paid them out. father then went on to buy the first 550 maranello in Oz

Not true. If my father owned a Fazza, I'd expect him to chuck me the keys! I'm only 22.

The father cannot be blamed for the drivers actions at all. If the driver was unlicenced and dad gave him the keys, then sure, but someone with their full licence - different story.

Reminds me of the Red XR6 over the weekend in Melbourne.
It crashed over a car barrier, dropped over a 5-10 metre embankment, and got wedged between the embankment and a bike path / footpath. Merely missing out on ending up in the Yarra river by 3 metres. Sooo close!

Also the abandoned police chase yesterday up north-ish...which ended with 5-6 damaged at Bridge and Montague. Then the intersection was sectioned off for 4-5 hours.
And I dont ANY of the incidents in the past 24 hours are because the Gang of 49. Get your info straight.

Hmm so did he choke on his silver spoon when he hit that pole?? :

I don't see any skid marks in those pics either, could be just the angle but damn no attempt to even stop??

Ohh and I wanna throw a curve ball at the 'should the father be held accountable?' debate. As we've been informed, these people have quite a bit of money and like fast cars. why didn't the father say to his kids, I'll buy you these fast cars but first you gotta take and pass an advanced driver course....

Is there any excuse not to have done that?

You are correct. I do not know if the gang of 49 were involved in yesterdays disaster. However it certainly has similarities to their crimes!

Do YOU know that they were not involved?

On the news they said one of them had just been released from prison. I know the person who lives in the house where one of them was found. Will ask him if it was a white person or not - but frankly it does not matter. Scum is scum no matter what colour the perpetrators are.

Our lawmakers need to come up with some legislation that will actually make any of these crims think twice before getting involved in these dangerous pursuits.

Rocket.

Exactly! If this guy is as rich as he seems & owns that ferrari & a lambo & all his kids have brand new cars, i dout he would really give a s*%t...the fact that he even gave his son the keys shows he doesn't really care about it...

Default So sad Sir... too bad

I'm pretty sure that when the insurance company, whoever they are, get hold of the police / accident report, interview any witnesses that will talk to them about the "zingging" behaviour of the vehicle it will not bode well for the owner.

The insurance company will be all to willing to tell the dissapointed owner of his prized possession that his son is a tool and they will not be signing a check for the replacement cost.

a shame the experience in acquiring enough wealth to purchase such an assett does not provide the foresight to tell the snot nosed little so and so, "You want to drive what....... not in this lifetime boy.

With this type of money. I don't think he's fussed if insurance covers it or not. As he bought the Ferrari on a spare of the moment thought, when they saw it advertised.

Car is in the Business name so all employies can drive the vehicle

does not obsolve them (driver) from proportional liability. Shame still that he considers a 250k car a spare of the moment purchase that does not warrant the concern on its replacement.

No person, no matter how much they have considers a 1/4 mil as nothing, hate to be in the boys shoes, bet his inheritance is going to be 250k less now.

My family is not exactly strapped for cash, but I can tell you I did not get my hands on the good car until I was into my thirties and already owned my own XR8. Then I was allowed to drive the BMW 540i (what a brilliant car, they now have a Merc : ).

My name could be Packer, and the money that goes with that name, I still would not let any son of mine drive my Ferrari on open road , end of story.

As for insured and owned by the company, good to see the customers are paying extra for the consequences of this idiot.

I am just glad no one was killed. That post could have just as easly been a family on the foot path.

I'm just waiting for my modena now. I am in my 30's and live in adelaide and according to news lately they must be pretty common. There was that Modena just a couple of weeks ago in adelaide that was impounded when the 32 yr old driver was caught doing about 80ks over the limit.

Either they are cheap here in Adelaide or we have loads of excess money in this state lmao

If the son is 20-21, I wonder who was driving? The media reports:

http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/s...006301,00.html

"THIS $250,000 Ferrari was almost sliced in half yesterday, yet the two men inside astonishingly escaped serious injury.

They had "turned the streets into a racetrack" before crashing into the pole, in Walkerville, just before noon.

The driver, aged in his 30s, and his passenger were treated in Royal Adelaide Hospital for minor injuries.

....."

Still, what a bloody waste of a nice car...
