I have those on watch at the moment.

could get the red ones rubbed back and just polish the raised sections to match and then clear again.

But yet .... weird indeed.

Yeah ... the way it was revved out up Mountain Straight .... and then the massive backchange.

What it would have been like to have been there on that day. Damn.

this one gives me goosebumps, you would need balls of steel to drive one of these 4cyl supercars around the mountain on the limit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zgIw...eature=related

or the wheel work of seaton in the wet in this one will have you cringing the whole way round. How he doesnt put it in the wall I will never know.

Damn Seaton really had a few decent moments in the wet in the old HR30 Skyline.

I loved the Sierra era ... when they were running right ... those things were animals.

yeah, another great moment. Interesting contrast in styles, Moffat it just so smooth in comparison.
How hard was Dicky driving that greenstuf falcon though, right on the very limit (and beyond). what RPM was that clevo doing on that downshift? Such a tough motor...

I know we are Ford fans here...

Brocky in 79....
Led the whole race, won by 6 laps and posted the fastest lap on the last lap.
Now that was some doing even back then, all the stars were lined up for the A9X Toranas last real endurance race.

That's fair point, however with Bathurst just around the corner and all....

Just nice to look at a few great moments from the great race. I'm sure the thread will run It's course before too long.

Back when they raced real cars.

I went to Sandown on the weekend, it's so boring and the 'bang' the cars make between keys is very painful. Bring back the 'H' shift pattern!

my most memorable V8 bathurst sound was kevin bartlett qualifying in the wet in 1981. that camaro, with the drum brakes at the rear......

the TEXACO sierras was an 'interesting' noise in 87, as was the jags high pitched V12 scream in 1985, my first bathurst visit.

BIG REV KEV gets my vote in 81.
