Well. Gudday all.
I've done probably a few million km's in 'company" utes, and now I've my own. Yep, an AU II to be precise. I'm a keen traveller and camper and love the versatility of a good Aussie ute on lousy Aussie roads. I've had a bit of life experience, and as it so happens, I've time to experience some more. I'm Brissie based, and get away from this place as often as I can. The vehicle works and plays, same as me. Some bits are great, others need replacing and TLC. An auxiliary battery to keep the fridge cold and run a light at night, some bling and some bash gives it character and that does me just fine. Catch you about the place. Dinoquad. |

G'day All,
I had to sell my XB a few years back and never thought I would be tempted to get back into another build. I went to an auction recently in Canberra to buy a few old bits of furniture for my wife when a out of rego series 1 AU Monty I6 appeared. A few dings on the passengers side and A few cosmetic problems with the interior such as the typical sagging roof lining seemed to be the only dramas, I managed to pick her up for $600. I hope to post a build thread in the near future as I bring this Monty back to the road. Regards Andrew |

Hey guys I'm new here, bought my AU3 XR6 last year and I've been enjoying the hell out of it since. It's a bit rough externally but you get that on a 14 year old car. Gonna check out your cars and hopefully go cruising with some other AU owners.
Cheers, Vic |

I'm a little late to the party, but picked up a AUII VCT XR6 recently. Really tidy example, previous owner obviously cared for it. Less than 100,000kms on the odo.
Used to have a EB Fairmont around 10 years ago. Went through a few Nissans in the interim. Nice to be back in a Falcon. |

Hello everyone, I have a 2002 au s3 xr8 ute, it's the second au I have owned the first was the family car and a bloody good thing it was too.
Sold that and bought a ba, big mistake, I much preferred the au so it's nice to be back in one. Have pretty much always owned and driven Fords but did try the other brand once, vk Calais, even bigger mistake and just confirmed why I love fords so much. Current stable is the ute, the ba which is now the wife's work bus, a Kia Optima which is the wife's "nice car" and a 1966 Xp fairmont sedan which I am currently building a nice little 250 2v for. Though I am considering moving this on and getting a nice 220kw au xr8 as my weekend toy.....the au bug has bit me unfortunately. Anyway here's a photo of the ute....hope it works I'm not much of a tech head when it comes to computers. |

G"day all I am Yabbie 50yrold mechanic from the Territory. Always been a Ford bloke, did me time in a sub dealer down QLD way. Just bought a 5/2000 au 1 tonner, sorting out a milkshake and general wear and tear. Got 4 x f100, a couple of land cruisers and a xy gt on the block .Got falcons ea to el as spares so plenty to play with, the site and members are very well informed so I hope to extend my knowledge a little more as I have been away from petrol and electrics for a while now.

Hi all, I have an 1999 forte which one was my Nan and pops last car before they passed away. I have been driving it for about five years giving it next to no love but have recently decided to keep it and try to get it back into some kind of respectable shape. It's a stock forte but it's a manual so that's at least a little bit interesting and I have grown quite find of the old girl! Anyways, I joined up here looking for the info on how to remove the door cards so I can change the window regulator and motor in the front right drivers door but it seems I can't figure out how to access the info, lol, I need a walk through on how to get to the walk through . Nice to read all the good stuff posted on here and it's all ready been helpful reading some of the posts. Cheers guys, Chris.

The mighty AUs are definitely a solid car and definitely worth preserving in my opinion. Treat them well and they are generally pretty good back to you! There are a few How To threads here for the AUs: https://fordforums.com.au/vbportal/v...hp?moduleid=44 If you still cannot find what you are trying to find with the search function (have a play with the search, it works quite well), then post a question in the general AU area here: https://fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=241 Again welcome and we hope you can find what you are after, plus there are plenty of knowledgeable users here. Hi guys, new to the AU ownership thing, having previously owned several other fords. picked up a povo pack series 1 AU, amoretto gold with a fibreglass xr6 kit on it (requiring some minor repairs) and a crusty set of 17" speedy wheels. Managed to get it dirt cheap after pointing out to the guy selling it that it really wasnt an xr6! It had been sitting for about a year and im slowly going through it. Bonus is its fairly low kms at 185,000 and feels about right for those kms when driving. (and everything works!)
No big plans for it except for a brake upgrade, tidy up the barwork (fix the hole!), replace boot lid, clean it so it looks like it hasnt sat out in the weather most of its life, and maybe paint it if i get motivated.
