XY Falcon was the best falcon I ever owned.
I really miss the bench seat...I also miss drive in theatres...

Maybe not necessarily the BEST ... just I certainly loved the XP/XM Series ... simple yet elegant and in my mind - Classic by today's standards!

I Googled Falcon to refresh my memory on all the models before making a thread defining decision and all I got was a lot of photos of birds.
So I decided on the Peregrine Falcon as it can do over 350 kilometres per hour and they look good in grey. https://scitechdaily.com/falcons-see...la-1-race-car/ I also wouldn’t mind one of those last XR8 or XR6 Sprints but if I could only choose one it would be an early 60’s or 70’s model and I wouldn’t be too fussy which. . |

Best one I owned was an XE ESP 5.8L.

BAII RTV - with Raptor V S/C. RTV Power FG G6ET 50th Anniversary in Sensation. While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about. “Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”. |

The best Ford is a Valiant! Haha!
OK, if I didn't have a Charger, my dream car would be an XA GT Coupe. Not only the best-looking Falcon ever produced, IMO, but also the pinnacle of the performance era for Ford Australia (if you count the Phase IV and/or RPO83). Honourable mention to the XR GT – the car that started it all. For the time, these things were horn, right down to the gold paint, GT stripes and chromies. But of all the Fords I've ever been in, the AU Falcon is the nicest car to drive. BFs and FGs look good, but you can feel the extra weight. AU looks may be an acquired taste (I like them, especially the XR8 front end), but they drive and handle very nicely. Which is why I'll be keeping mine.

You are bang on the money with your favs, I can't disagree but to add, having a FGXSprint it finally steers stops handles pretty damn close to the T3 so just to add into your great choices !

Ah, I couldn't help but plug the Charger – best looking car ever designed in Australia, IMO. But I'm obviously very, VERY biased.
If anyone questions my taste in AUs, all they have to remember is I like Valiants – arguably some of the ugliest, odd-ball cars produced in Australia. But they were the best bang for buck when I was growing up, which is why I owned them, and were ahead of their time in many respects. Just look at a VC Valiant compared to a HR Holden for example. OK, I'll shut up about Vals now. I must admit, XBs have grown on me, but it was the introduction of ADR27 that killed the joy of driving a lot of cars from late 73 onwards. That aside, I do like XDs (in a brutal kind of way), and the FGX is a pretty sexy car – a nice design to end the last of the Falcons on, and the only reason I left it out is because I haven't driven one yet. Though I can't help but feel every time I look at a BA, BF, FG or FGX, there's a little AU Falcon lurking under there

I used to also owned a Valiant charger a CL once. Ford has built some great car's. When you think of Allan Moffat you think of the falcon GTHO straight away. I think the best falcon was the FG XR8, it was a V8 supercharged engine and really looked the part. |

to me the best falcon is a fairlane
but out of all the falcons ive had id still say the best was the first i had and the first car i had which was the xy falcon wagooon tutone white vinyl roof monza green and sh!te brown interior center console bucket seats being so big n bargy its probably why i ended up being a fairlane person tho the xb i owned was probably the start of the reason i grew away from being a falcon person having said that i wouldnt mind a xb/c wagon shell with the multi way tailgate id put a zh fairlane front clip on it and 4x4 it

yes still (as money n time permit) doing the rebuilding the zh fairlane with a clevo 400m 4v heads injected whipple blown with aode 4 speed trans to a 9" ....... we'll get there eventually just remember don't be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the Ark...Professionals built the Titanic! I have taken up meditation... at least it's better than sitting around doing nothing !! |

The ZH Fairlane Sportsman from 11/1978 Best F100 XLT 4X4 with the 5.8L auto from 1978 no one could bag that. I would spend the money to restore them regardless because they are a classic. |

Never owned it but drove it a bit, back in early 70's, it was called the Black and White around Villawood, which is where it lived.
XR Fairmont, black vinyl top, white body with a black stripe around bottom of panels, to sill height. Leather interior from Leeds UK, little 289ci donk, and an American 5 speed cruisomatic trans! It was beautiful, belonged to the Canadian Consulate, my mate bought it very cheap, his boss was a mercantile agent, his boss repoed it and it never went to auction, so cool to drive! |
