I think the point of this thread is to show what an FG with a few bob spent on her is capable of..This is , by any measure one of the best bang for your buck engines on the planet..Done right , this engine is tough enough to cop a fair bit of upgrading on a relatively low budget..Who cares if it doesn't handle like a Huracan it's not meant to..it's a family car , not a purpose built sports car..Cheers Rod

So, to bring in the mentality used by many here for 1/4 runs (see the Sprint thread) say for example that video is "real" and "legit"

The lambo was supposedly fresh off a transporter, so may be 10 - 20km on it, therefore some kind of ECU protection going on there maybe. The Challenger? May be a few months older with more kms.

The Challenger has 707HP, the Lambo if it is the higher spec, 610hp.
The Challenger is built for going in a straight line and nothing more.
Lambo, well, circuits, straight line, whatever, it'll put up a fight.

Give the Falcon some credit.

Stock vs modified is a stupid argument. It's just a case of which car factory put the "mods" on before it left the line. It just so happens that the falcon can give more gut punching G force for 1/20th the price, which is really what most people care about. Sure the Lambo can take a track faster but is that really worth a whole house (to buy) and a new "normal" car (to service)? I'm not even factoring in depreciation here.

How do you back up that statement when sales figures indicated that most people who purchase “normal” cars don’t even buy Falcons?

No doubt a modified Falcon is fast in a straight line as are many modified cars and some can also get around a track quick smart to boot but if money was no object, there is a long list of vehicles I’d prefer before the it.

Falcon if you’re interested in a cheap performance family sedan makes some sense in its price range but if you are someone whose price point is higher, then your extra money buys into a whole different world of engineering even before you get up to the Lambo supercar type of spec.

yeah but that was only 1/8 mile , thats a joke , you dont see top end power showing at least until you get to 1/4 , but that is why tesla only brags about 0 to 100 because there are plenty of petrol cars that can run it down the quarter .

The falcon costs a huge sum less. So given that its an amazing that ford has achieved this. So who cares if lambo is stock or not. Go the falcon. Its highly underated good car and its treason for an australian to rubbish their fellow countrymans efford in car manufacture. Go true blue
