My Dad ran himself over in 1984 in his XE Falcon.
Parked the car nose into the curb, left it in Park with engine running to go to the shop and buy the paper - no handbrake on. Same process he had followed for years. Cam out to find the car doing low speed reverse donuts. Tried to jump into the open door but it had been raining and roads were wet. Slipped and fell under the car. His right knee became a choc and stopped the car. Fortunately he didnt slip further under as it would have been much more serious had his torso or head choc'ed the front wheel. |

As I previously posted, it does and i've tried it. Engine running, trans in neutral and I opened the door. You get a continuous chime and a flashing message on the dash, it's in neutral here but you get the same if it's in D or R (the reds are quite diluted in the pic) -
