MTA Inspections review

Hey guys I just had a car I recently purchased looked at by MTA inspections as I live in another state. Basically the car mechanically had no problems....At least untill I checked some things myself and low and behold this guy at MTA has missed numerous issues which could be costing me thousands now.

Has anyone had business with these guys before and have any reflection for me as how they've been?

Feeling pretty crap right now as I thought they were quite refutable :(

I'd suggest contact them with a complaint. if you are not satified with their response contact the ombudsman. From their website:
"You will need to contact the Office of Fair Trading as they are the governing and licensing body for all dealerships on 133 220. Unfortunately the MTA is an employer association, and we provide services to MTA Members who have licensed businesses in the motor industry."

You have a chance of getting something done as I had a similar problem and had it resolved.
I purchased an F100 that came with a blue slip.
After I bought it I took it for a wheel alighnment it was found to have a cracked crossmember.
I contacted the Motor Traders Association and made a formal complaint that I had purchased the vehicle based on the condition of the vehicle as per the blue slip.
The inspector came out (was a woman surprisingly) and was very knowledgable.
The guy tried to say that it had just broken after he inspected it but she wasn't having any of his bullshit.
She made an order on the spot that the blue slip guy had to remove the engine and repair the crossmember to a safe condition and refit the engine. It was also agreed that I would inspect the repairs before the engine was refitted.
I had to pay for the fluids involved which was coolant and transmission fluid.
See how you go but if you have the documentation that says the vehicle is safe and it is not then you should be right.

THanks guys, yeah I was thinking of making a formal complaint I went through his report again and double checked what he wrote down and there was a lot he checked that he said was okay e.g.

Diff pinion seal is leaking,
Rear Rubber Exhaust mounts torn
Cruise Control Doesn't work
One of the power mirrors doesn't work
Car had no oil on the dipstick (still had 5 litres in the sump when I drained it and replaced)
Some of the bushes on the control arm were ******** and a wheel bearing.

So its so far cost me more than i'd like to pay but i'll let you guys know of the outcome.

depends on the mileage...
they might argue that those points are consistent with the overall condition of the vehicle?

130,000km on the car to me that seems still quite low.
