Default Dodge Challenger SRT10 concept

not sure if posted already..

I like this car, no other car shows how old school (1970's) can meet the new (2008) and how its been incorporated to make this aggressive looking V8 a real contender for a modern day muscle car, looks tough.
.
.

Powered by the Dodge Viper's huge 8.4-litre all-alloy V10 engine, the Challenger SRT10 Concept outputs 600 ponies, or 447 kilowatts to use the metric power measurement.
Dumping 758Nm (560 lb.ft) of torque onto the transmission, Dodge says the new "halo concept delivers the well-known SRT credo of benchmark performance."

That is unreal. Far out the yanks build some rubbish, and then they do that....

Not a fan of the rims though, could do with some grey or black centres with polished lip. Retro style aswell.

Hell YES! I thought the 2008 SRT8 Dodge Challenger was awesome... With the shaker it looks like an evil hog. And with those power figures it'll be eating cars like a hog chews through bone!

More car companies should bring back the old school look on new cars, that is AWESOME.

it is a shame the Challenger isnt coming to Australia, its even more of a shame that this is only a concept and most likely will never be produced.

Im also pretty sure that the Viper is no more either (could be wrong - i hope)

I was just thinking about this Challenger, when it clicked.

Who would want to see a FPV GTHO based on the XY but modernised like this Dodge Challenger, and with similar power figures?

Yeah, I know it won't happen. But if FPV wanna do something special, it should be that special, imo.

Its no substitute for the original 1970.

and also this doesnt look as good as the 2008 R/T IMO, which is tastefull, but probably too big by the looks of it.

Being a driver of the 70's I love the look. But this is 2008, the looks are a bit too retro for me. Having said that, I would not say no to owning a few of the oldies!

Like someone else said, it could lose the snout.

Other than that, it's a damn fine piece of machinery, IMO.

Very tough looking car nonetheless.

Tough is the only word to describe it. And just when Chev thought putting an Ls7 in a Camaro was going to guarantee them of sitting on top of the Pony car tree. I can't wait to see a comparo between the Challenger SRT-10, GT500KR and Comaro LS7.

no, most attempts at bringing back iconic cars from the past end up with molested pieces of poo.

However, i do admit, this example has been done pretty well, but thats only 1 out of countless attempts.

the GTHO is an icon, there is no need to try and recreate it. it wont end well

Yeah i wouldn't mind taking one for a spin, even with the 6.1 (SRT8) it would be pure excitement on wheels.
