what about the ultimate mutant car the XG?
or the next one up the XH?

but id have to say either the XD for the oldish school look and muscle of a 351

or AU series 2 xr8, very tough looking car

I would have to say,
XD - Very intimidating square shape, But still has a unique style to it.
XP coupe - Such a sexy style, oozes class
XA coupe - Tough, no-one could possibly bad mouth a mint one, like mustangs... they are universal
//goes back to dreaming :(

Why?

Only a V8 is a V8.

I spent a day with my engine tuner, he worked on my GT and another guy's F6, when we were done, we both had around 288kw at the rear wheels.

He asked if I wanted to go for a ride in his F6, I did and it felt about the same as the GT for go, if there was a difference in straight line speed, either way, I couldn't pick it.

Then I asked him if he wanted to come for a ride in the GT and he did.

After full lock slides through the turns, fist gear fish tails for as long as you care to stay on the throttle (Auto in performance mode, not changed manually) and noise that made his F6 sound like a Sigma, he got out of my car, the tuner asked "What did you think?" He responded "I wish that I'd bought the V8."

By the way, my list of Fords that I've owned include the following; XK, XP, XT, XB, XC, XD, XE, 78 LTD, 88 Fairlane, NA, EB, NC, NF and now BF GT.

If you think that any of those lovely old cars are even in the same league as the BF, unfortunately, you're dreaming.

V8's sound good and all but the turbo 6 has plenty more then 288rwkw in it.

they hit 400rwkw+ with stock bottom ends and higher. Id take the 6 Turbo they are stronger than the 8

Every car has to be compared to other cars of it's era - you cannot compare an XK with a BF. On that basis alone there are many Ford models that represented a huge leap forward compared in technology compared to the opposition offerings. Some include XL, XR, XD/XE and AU. On the other hand there are those models which outsold the opposition and therefore by popularity (sales) alone represent what was the best on offer at the time. An example is the XF and ZL range.

To say the BF is the best Falcon model ever produced is not really saying much more than it is the newest model and therfore should be the best when compared to older models. BUT, is it technologically more advanced than the opposition? Does it outsell the opposition? I think not! Lets' hope the Orion can change that and become the best model Ford has ever produced both on the basis of advancement and sales.

The performance section is full of horror storys about I6's self destructing all the time, I wouldnt go any further than 300rwkw's with stock BA internals and I wouldnt go any further than 350rwkw's in a BF, even though they have the stronger rods and pistons, you are still pushing it.

There are heaps of blown BOSS motors out there running stock internals with above 350rwkw's, im yet to hear of an engine failure.

The 6's aint stronger, and with kits like the bluepower kenne bell kit now available for BOSS motors, they are getting cheaper to make go as hard or harder than a turbo, plus you have the bonus of a V8 roar, not a hairdryer whining.
