There's a lot of drivers who go out of there way to get in front of L/P drivers for some reason. As you said you're already most of the way there as a driver, and you did the right thing. Just suck it up, it's gonna happen a LOT and all you can really do is wave it off and go on your way.
Lots of replies regarding driving like everyone else is an idiot - it works, if you ride a motorcycle it's the only way to stay alive and it translates well to cars. I got cut off by a fat ugly lesbian this morning (just saying it like it was, few who'd seen her and the rainbow sticker on the back of her doghair-filled sh!theap would argue) and all I could do was think "thank f%^$ there won't be any more of you to hit the roads in the future" and go on my way ; )
