Rubbish! Holden maintained the advantage they had with their simple uncomplicated run of the mill V8 and introduced a sportwagon after they could not see any benefit maintaining a regular wagon so they could be in this position now. Considering the fact that the wagon does not come from the long wheel base, they have also done well not to kill this segment off either at least for the time being.

On the other hand Ford did not update their wagon and then killed it of. Same could be said about the V8 option along with a long wheel base anything. It was Ford that engineered the position they are in and nothing to do with Holden. No point chucking rocks at Holden for having a bigger line up for customers to choose from and then calling unfair play.

Regardless of how good of a car people think the Falcon is, it suffers from a few disadvantages (main one being volume production= lower possible sale price to recoup investment), that others on the list dont

This is the biggest worry imho, there is no Ford anything in the top ten. Even Hyundai gets a second mention. This needs to be fixed now before it is too late, and I would settle for a Ford anything at this stage.

So it begs the question, are we looking at this the wrong way?, if the Falcon is on the nose to the general buying public in Australia, should Ford now be looking deep into its arsenal of cars to change the fortunes of its woes in Australia, is there anything else in the world of Ford that could make a big impact in here like the Cruze or are people still pinning its hopes on the Falcon?
