Default Things NOT to do when working on a car!

Motivated by a similar thread on another auto forum, I'd be interested to hear things you've done to your car that have gone south and have ended up costing you a bit more than you had originally planned..

By this I mean modifying and completely ruining something else in the process, to stumbling across a pain in the *** of some sort whilst fiddling around with your car.
Doesn't matter what car. I did a search with no luck, so let's here em'

Basically things you should not do to your car, because this will happen/happened to me...
