Hopefully fixed the (30 year old) electric oven - control board had dry joints from spade connectors losing tension over time and heating excessively.
Being a tightwad in ways like this, is how I squeeze more dollars for my projects. P.S. Unlike BENT_8, no buns in this one. |

within 2 years she will have you wrapped around her little finger, kid you not. My eldest is 20 this year and my heart still melts when I see her and I blush with the love and affection she gives me

I reckon it took all of 2 minutes though once I held her, she's tiny at 5lb8oz and only 47cm long. |

Northern Vic?
Yep, its been rough. Massive thunderstorm that rolled through at 8pm Christmas, took out power till 1am. It upended the nursery, which meant the guys had to go in on Christmas day to stand everything back up so it could be watered properly via the overhead irrigation. Then, rolling thunderstorms that continued on both Christmas and Boxing day. A week later, Jan 2nd, another huge storm tore through, massive hail stones, strong wind and 80ml of rain in 15 minutes. We had water gushing into the shop, the nursery boundary fences blew down and almost all of the shade sails ripped or damaged. The last two days were predicted to be severe, with 100ml of rain expected. And yet we were told it was going to be a dry summer.

Finally identified a mystery rattle near the left rear of the ute cabin. This has been niggling me for months.
At first I thought it a mower, but it rattled with the mower removed. Next I considered loose elements of the tray. Nope. I checked for the handbrake cable slapping around, and for loose/cracked exhaust. What about the fuel tank straps? They proved tight. Mudflaps, tight. Jack kit - not rattling. Centre seat belt, rattle free. I was starting to wonder if an internal part of the cab structure had started to break free of its welds. Negative. Found it this evening. Loose mounting plate for the passenger side rear speaker. |

Six hours of sound sleep overnight, no chemical assistance. I’d forgotten how refreshing good rest can be.

I had a relatively easy first week back at work but always some turds to deal with, more process than actual work. I only had <=20 emails of substance to deal with which was nice.

I just don't think about things, go to bed tired, take a few deep breaths and relax, go to sleep. I did over 30 years of shift work, certainly mucks you around. People are just different, what works for one doesn't work for another. Apparently what troops do out in the field, SAS etc, to get to sleep quickly is shut down your body with your brain, bit by bit, starting with your feet, legs etc. I've tried it with some success.

Spent the day sorting out all the model trucks and cars I had left at the family house from 45 years ago.
Now that my mother has gone and the brother is clearing the estate it seemed like a good time to do this, a little sad though seeing the place get sold. Wow, found some real gems in amongst the tat. A whole suitcase full of 60s 70s 80s Matchbox, Dinky, Corgi and Husky trucks will be heading back to Vic soon. Glad my mum made me look after them. small sample of goodies in excellent condition.

My eldest 2 started at KFC at 14, my Son built his first house by age 21 and my Daughter signed her contract at 21 and will have hers finished in June at age 23 due to delays in the construction industry. As jaydee said, it teaches them the value and reward of hard work. |

Had my leave for alternate Mondays for the rest of this year approved today. Couple that with my Monday RDO and that means I don't have one week for the whole year where I work more than four days .
