Getting my GS back from the panel beaters this week with replaced FPV front bumper, and i noticed all the kerb rash on the underside of the old one. Anyone here have any methods of protecting the underside at all? Aside from jacking the ride height up has anyone tried like a clear or black (my car is black) 3M film or something similar That would lower the chance of scratches or damage? On my old FG XR8 I had a moulded plastic lip but cant remember where i got it from.
Cheers.

The heavy duty (off road version) of the 3M film does a reasonable job and at least can be replaced when it is damaged.
Cheers Russ

Yeah I'm surprised how low the front bumper hangs. I've scraped it a few times. Luckily you can't see it. I hate to have the car lowered. It would be much worse.
The front plastic protector is from CAPA http://www.capa.com.au/accessories_ford.htm

All my cars are lowered so if you're talking about the concrete wheel stops in parking bays then why not do as I always do and reverse in.
If you're scrubbing on the roadway as you enter and exit drives then take it as slow as possible to the point where you stop if you have to, if that doesn't help then it's one of those things you have to live with to have a cool looking low car. I tried those films years ago and when I scrubbed the car it came off just as easy as it took the paint off without it. |

Getting mine back after a front bar replacement tomorrow after a week. You have to be very patient as express and the beige one have said. Mine is lowered and then with the added weight of supercharger it's even lower. I'd rather scrape my skin I think.
