Default Burnouts at Winter Olympics

Did anyone else see Schumacher doing donuts in a Ferrari F1 on the stage at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics last night?

Man, how mind blowingly loud would that have been inside the stadium?

It wasn't schumacher, it was the teams test driver luca badoer - schumacher is too busy testing the new chassis for the upcoming formula 1 season.

You can see video of it here, but beware, it may take a while to download.

Just a sidenote though, I thought that that was probably the only enjoyable thing about the opening ceremony, particularly because there is no "dream" or HG and Roy to speak of. Few of us busted a gut a few times though thinking of what they might have said.

But it was a lovely tribute to the fammous "Italian Stallion". It was fantastic to see the pit crew assemble the car and the F1 doing a few doughy's. I personally thought that some of the engine roar was added into the background (not all of it came from the car IMHO).

Tops though. :king:

That burnout got my attention for sure! (: Though, seemed like much of the engine noise was dubbed in =/ But I wouldn't know, haven't heard an F1 car irl.

Gotta love the fireworks that just came after that!!

I think they did add engine noise... that was pretty apparent. But I think they didnt need to. An F1 is pretty loud on its own. I think its about 110dB? or was that 120dB?

Engine noise added? Don't think so. Been to many a grand prix and they all do exactly that. You hear it in the garage and they rev just like that to quickly get heat in the motor. As this car had only been running for a few seconds I'd say that was the case.
As for the motor after the burnout, well, probably destroyed due to intense heat and lack of airflow over the radiators. (They don't have any kind of fans).
In actual fact, it was last years V10 that was in that car, and that engine doesn't like excess heat.
