Is there any news on a Brisbane installer? I will ordering my coilovers in the next 6 months and would prefer somebody familiar with the product to install them.

My understanding is that they come preset from shockworks, and therefore installation is no different to removing front struts and putting them back in - rear is even easier. You only need an 18mm socket, 17mm socket, 18mm ring spanner, 21mm ring spanner, and an 8mm spanner and you have all the tools you need to remove/install front and rear.

Brett recommended Ken from Accurate Suspension in Woodridge. Did a good job with the install, just mind that he's the only person in the workshop so give him good notice and will require an afternoon to install.

I just bought a set of these 2nd hand - having had XYZ's for the last couple of years bolting these in is just something else again.

Don't get me wrong, for the $1200 i paid for the XYZ's they have done a decent job in the last couple of years but this Shockworks setup is definitely worth the extra coin. The car feels a lot more compliant; the rough roads around here are insanely different to drive on (not bad considering I have 30 profile tyres on 20in rims); the car is a lot nicer on turn in; less tendency to understeer - it's simply become an absolute pleasure to drive.

wish i had bought them new. I've been missing out!

Hey Pyrex,
I am sorry but the Ford ute adjustable kit is now $2000. We held on to the original price until September last year. We had to make the increase on the price due to our Aussie dollar falling so far in the last two years.
Best regards
Brett

Hi,
The fully adjustable kit for the FG is $2200. If you are in Sydney, we normally use Dave at Eastcoast suspension.

Just checking on Brisbane installers - would Accurate Suspension still be the best option?

Can the standard ride height be maintained?

I have a FG MKII FPV F6 and don't want to lower it but just to handle a bit better.

I also have a whiteline front and rear sway bar kit with adjustable link pins to put in

Hi Anthony,
No problem maintaining the standard heights in the car but we do find the whole setup better using the standard bars as we have done all the balance work with the spring rates we have chosen. We find that increasing the bars with our kit can reduce grip and make the car copy the road laterally too much:-)
Cheers

Well after two solid years of “Shockworks” enjoyment, things just a got better.

My coilovers were installed in June 2014 and as per the many posts above it transformed my G6ET. Come 2016 I corresponded with Brett at Shockworks about a knocking issue I’m experiencing in the rear. This noise was unrelated to the Shockworks equipment but Brett was happy to help. From here Brett mentioned ongoing tweaks and development to the tuning of the rear dampeners. Come late September I removed my rear dampeners and sent them to Brett for re-tuning. Having reinstalled the re-tuned dampeners, the car still feels planted, evenly balanced, yet the ride is a little more cushioned/relaxed over bumps. Initial feeling is traction has improved also due to a little extra squat under load.

So those of you whom were early adaptors like me, contact Brett regarding the re-tune and pricing, you won’t be disappointed.

*Brett, your product is fantastic, however your service is even better which is a credit to yourself and the team at Shockworks.

Hey Ford17 - I am really interested to hear about your thoughts on the FGX-XR8 after you have fitted the shockworks setup. Am contemplating what to do myself with my XR8 as the standard setup is just far too harsh to live with day to day (am looking for a more compliant ride as a daily).

Shockworks sounds like on the full soft they should provide a better ride (more along the lines of a Grand Tourer) but can be wound up on a needs basis for a more engaging drive as and when required.

There are a lot of great reports I've read for BA's/FG's etc, and would expect the same for the FGX-XR8 but would be nice to hear from someone that has fitted them first hand.

Hey Tradesecret,
I am sorry for the late reply.

You can go to Royal Auto Styling in Narangba, who do a great job with the Ford installs.

I hope this helps:-)

Hi Brett,

Are you able to confirm the price for a full set of your coilovers for a BF sedan?

Are they regularly in stock or would I have to pre-order?

Cheers
