Hi There, are these still for sale, I would be keen on them, where are you located? Be perfect for my XY.
Sorry I see you are in Ipswich, that's cool, would still be keen.

I think the OM rims look good on later models.
These are my OM18's & I also picked up a cheap set $150 (couple dings & some rash) of OM16's for my daughters yaris when the $ come along to be repaired. Last edited by cool65; 17-10-2013 at 07:50 PM. Reason: link |

Don't be silly..."too old fashioned"...come on...
The polished Simmons B45 is the coolest mag wheel that has been or ever will be manufactured... |

Simmons will always be cool but I'm with H.G on the jelly beans.
They look great on old school muscle. I loved them when I was younger and still do. I don't know if it's because I'm getting old or if my imagination is getting the better of me but I'm starting to drool. A set of US Indy 15x10 on the rear is hard to beat. I need a set for my XY. . |

They're a nice wheel but overdone. There was a period in the Aus scene where every second show car had Simmons...just gets boring and unimaginative.

Still too cool for school. Love 'em, but only B45's, V5's and FR's.

Old Simmons? Naaaah they look terrible
I know this is an old post but these were pics taken at Depulus when they did mine up about a year ago, rims were still straight after all these years and they still held their own against any rim they had there for good looks in my book...reckon they will always have a following. |

No chrome there, spun alloy rims all polished, light, strong and look good...how old Skool huh. No wonder they cost a fortune back in the day. There are definitely some nice modern rims out there these days, but I don't know, just always loved these and they are getting scarce nowadays |

I had them on my coupe when I bought it - couldn't get rid of them quickly enough at the time but am sorry I let them go now. The had excellent offset. Grey centres, could have had them sprayed gold.

Yes, they are last century. So is my car. This century is overrated. Oh, and yes they are still cool.

I was undecided what I wanted to use on my XB Falcon Ute Project. I was set on Globes, but the Simmons B45s were even nicer looking. And the Aunger Hotwires were also right for the year. As mentioned some of the prices for these wheels are high, and based on cost and shipping I set my sights slightly different. I found a set of One Owner Appliance Mag Wires, which look similar to the Hotwire, and I only paid $100 for all 4, plus lug nuts. Here is a picture of what they look like, mine are all 14X7s.

G'day all , I like the Simmons wheels tons...Just look right BUT...
the mighty Bathurst Globes are the ultimate for me.. On that coincidence..I walked in on New Years Day to our local newsagency. The new owner as of a couple of weeks ago was there with his wife wearing an FPV shirt..I shook his hand and said "Smart man". pointing to the shirt.. We obviously got talking all things Ford (as you do) and he started telling me about his passion for building an XY GT dedicated classic race car.. He's well on the way now he said and invited me up one night when he gets back from overseas to check it out. He still works as a consultant for a mining company so he'll be coming and going a bit for another 12 months or so...while his wife mostly runs the newsagency with the family.. He's going to run Bathurst Globes on the project build XY GT.... He sold his FG XR 6 Turbo to buy a Ranger XLT for the shift to Tassie from Queensland and he said he really misses the car a lot.. For the moment getting the business sorted , the GT project done and working in Asia are his priority but it'll be awesome to see where he goes with it all.. Cheers Rod.. |
