Had a job done there a couple of weeks ago.
They do a pretty good job for the price.

New St. If you are heading from the city into lilydale you go along whitehorse rd then turn right at New St (at traffic light). Can't miss it. They seem to have all the right equipment there. But I didn't see any mandrel bending machine. The "mandrel" system they did on mine was made up of pre-mandrel bent sections but hey at $700 for a twin 2.5 you can't complain.

My cousin got his XF done at Lilydale Mufflers & Towbars, on Main street (Maroondah Hwy), next to Mitsubishi in Lilydale.

They did a good job.

I can recommend Unique Exhausts in Barry Rd, Bayswater. They did the exhaust on my Coupe (back from extractors). No rattles, the pipes sit right and the tips are perfectly located with the rear panel cutouts.

They only use quality components such as Pacemaker.

As far as I can recall the guys name is Rod and he understands old school stuff. Give them a go.

Yup, another vote for Unique Exhausts in Bayswater. As Bearman said, the bloke in charge is Rod and he did a great job on my XB. Just two inch pipes the whole way through with nice, neat, plain chrome tips but I never had any dramas with extra sounds or any of that. The tips both sat as central as my eyes could tell and I was very happy with the work.

They're definately worth looking into if you're shopping around.

Mate they ust to be good a couple of years ago but Dave sold up and new owners now.

Try Exhaust Fix in Lilydale, does an awesome job and very good prices. Also Dave from Performance Exhaust now works for Mick up there.

If you want some pics and some prices PM me and I will let you know or have a look in my project thread for end results.

performance exhaust ringwood... NEVER EVER AGAIN!!

i spent THOUSANDS building a car a few years ago, including a detailed undercarriage, and went to them to get the exhaust done.
it came back nothing like what i asked for (ending before the diff, which is illegal, and on the wrong side of the car, and really loud), and they decided that because it was all shiny underneath, they'd put a nice coat of sprayed on black on the pipe... while it was on the car!!
yep, black overspray f-ing everywhere...
was fun fixing it, i can tell u...
then, when i got the car finished, it was knocked on a roadworthy for 2 things...
1. too loud (after i asked for it to be quiet)
and 2. ending b4 the diff.
so i take it back...
they say "stiff. u want more work done, then its more money."
i'm left with no choice (would cost money if i went elsewhere anyway), so they re-do it with a second muffler and a tailpipe over the diff.
and they painted it AGAIN after i directly told them not too!!
how much hit the fan that day, do u reckon??

but lastly, it sounded terrible, coz to make it quiet, the second muffler was a 2" jobbie, and the rest of it was 2 1/2"... great 'performance'...
only found that out when i got sick of it and got it all re-done at another place.
and that other exhaust place is now the only 1 i go to...
EXHAUST FIX, WINDSOR RD. CROYDON.
Ross in there has years and years of design and fitting experience of mainly custom stuff, specialising in race stuff.
1 case is a mates race car. he liked the 1 Ross did on my race car, so took his car there to see what he thought of what he already had.
well, put it this way... the new system that Ross did cut 3 seconds a lap off at Sandown, and never went over the dB limit like his old 1 did from time to time. and this is on a 1.8l 4 cylinder, not a V8.

hope these stories help a bit.
cheers.

The guy that runs Performance Exhaust Ringwood is also Dave. But this must be a different Dave?

I know there is a David that has changed jobs on a number of shops in the last few years. I think he was at Muffler Man Pharanh a few years back (did my Soarer)......then maybe he was the one at Perf Exhaust?... and now to Exhaust Fix? He seemed like a very capable exhaust fabricator but for some reason kept changing shops.

Exhaust fix in Lilydale did good work on a mates HQ. I'll probably be going there to get mine done.

I had an exhaust for my old skyline done there (Ringwood Performance Exhaust) about 8 years ago now. 3 inch mandrel system. Got it home jacked it up to find a 2.5 inch press bend system on it. When I called them and complained they told me that a skyline only needs a 2.5 system anyway and not to worry about it!

It took 2 months of writing letters and complaining to get them to fit the 3 inch mandrel system I had paid for.

Just had my BAII XR6 Ute done at Exhaust Fix in Croydon (thanks to 1600GT's advice). I had Pacemaker Headers, a High-Flow CAT and full piping installed for a great price.

The car is great to drive, and even my Dark Side mates love the sound of it.

Ross at Exhaust Fix did a great job.

For all the people that have had work done by or have recommended the use of Unique Exhaust in Barry St Bayswater The owner of the shop died on Tuesday and the future of shop is unknown? But the guy I use thinks that its possibly for sale at the moment.
