I've read that in turbo cars you can gain up to 30rwkw in some applications of tuning your engine on E10.
But what i would to know can you get a gain in power using E10 on an N/A with custom tuning? The the fuel i use now is Caltex Vortex 98 and they have E10 at the same service station i go too, its cheaper than regular unleaded, so it would make sense to switch to E10. |

The additional Octane Rating over standard will make no diff unless you have enough compression to need it. The calorific value of the fuel is what matters. The calorific value of Ethanol is lower than that of regualar fuel. So, unless the E10 has "extras" to boost up the calorific value it won't make any difference.
I use a 95 E10 and find no real difference in performance except that the car tends to run a little smoother. Ethanol tneds to run cleaner and can be corrosive. The samll amount in E10 just helps keep the fuel system clean but can be an issue for some cars. I think you've heard crap. "tuning" might be to advance the ignition to run on a higher octane regardless of whether it is E10 or regular fuel of the same octane. |

E10 is crap and the fuel burns to quick just like that O-power.
Go to mobil and get 98 octane 8000 and you'll get performance and more kms

E10 is a cheaper fuel. NOT a performance fuel. I've been trying it off and on for a few years now and the only car that actually seemed to do OK was our VK Calais EFI. And that was because it needed high octane fuel, it pinged badly on ULP. All 4 cars I tried it on had worse consumption and rough running, all fine when on normal ULP. I'm intending to do some proper consumption tests using my Charade soon.

Street Machine did a test on this a while back using a VX/Y?? SS LS1. Same dyno same day they used 98ron from all the major companies, drained the tank in between each run and tuned the thing for the different fuels. They got 30rwkw more out of the United Boost 98 than anything else. Still burns too fast for me though, car doesn't like it either.

Not sure I would choose E10 98 octane over normal 98 octane. I would have to see some decent test results.

E10 is fine if the car is driven and the fuel used it is not the best if the car is just a weekend warrior and left in the garage all week that is what causes the corrosion of the parts when it is left to sit for extended periods of time
If it is an every day driver it is quite good to use
