There's a Bullet in a mates workshop in Nambour at the moment, I had a good look at it last week and it is beautifully engineered.

You wouldn't want the viper..... Not in Oz.
The beemer may be expensive, but would be relatively easy to procure parts for. Even through dealers. Can't just walk into a Dodge dealership, and order a new part for a Viper. Same with aftermarket mods after the warranty runs out..... The Beemer is easier again. Don't get me wrong, I'd own a Viper in a heartbeat. It's my favourite car since I was 10. But procurements of parts would be a pain in the *.

I think a lot of people get too caught up in performance figures, So a 1.0 or 2.0 engine might be more powerful per litre, but on the street that doesn't even matter. How often on the street will you experience the full potential of your 0-100km or 0-400m time? Almost never (legally anyway) but the feeling of driving a V8 can be enjoyed at any speed, even just idling at a set of lights while the rumble of the V8 scares the ricer stopped next to you.
And as for those who do take their car to the track, if you get beaten by a V8 are you really going to say "but, but.... my car is more powerful per litre"? |

The amount of detail in this build is pretty decent ... and looks like it should have been done this way from factory. His other MX5s/Miatas have been decent as well.
