RS 2000 bonnet

Hi All. Anyone know if a MK11 4 door Ghia bonnet will fit onto a MK11 4 door RS 2000? And what sort of dollars should you expect to pay for one with just some slight surface rust. Thanks.

No, the RS2000 has a slightly longer bonnet...

From memory, the radiator /bonnet slam panel is still the same, it's the plastic front nose parts and bonnet that's different.

This old, you might need to check out UK supplies, not sure there's much locally to help.

You're welcome, there's an aluminium spacer that goes in the manual shifter to make it short throw, UK might have the RS2000 instrument cluster too.

RS was buit from May 79 to dec 80, most parts will interchange between Ghia & RS, off the top of my head the main exceptions are
Bonnet,
Front Guards,
Dash,
Seats,
Shifter,
Wiring harness - depending on year model of Ghia - will need to be 2 litre May79 or later,
spring rates different (if still original suspension),
door cards - different trimming,
Steering wheel & manual gear knob - differnt shape & size,
heater control panel if Ghia is early model (pre 1977) - sliders go in differnt direction to later model,
Front struts if Ghia is a 1600 ( different spring & strut tube diameters),
Rear brake assy - RS had 9" drums, stock Escort 8",
Doors will interchange, but will need to remove chrome trim around door frame/window opening and plug holes in other skin from the bump strips,
If early (pre 77) doors will not have intrusion bars - can not legally fit to the RS unless you retrofit the bars,
Door sniper buttons different - RS had smaller head on buttons,
Brake master cylender interchanges if Ghia is post May 79 build,
Ghia door glass has factory green tint, RS was clear,
Headlights will not interchange, front indicators, interior lamp, tail lights & number plate lights will,
Arm rests, window winders, inner door handles, lock assys, window regulators all interchange,
Outer door handles on Ghia are chrome, RS were black,
Front sway bar different size - RS 22mm, Ghia 18 or 20mm
Diff interchangeable if Ghia 2lt (3.54:1), lower ratio if 1600 but will still fit(better acceleration, higher revs at hwy speeds, more fragile)

Many other differnces but can't think of them off hand
