As a source of reference we have added some technical data on the AU specification Cougar in the Technical Resource Section.
We have also now added the WIRING DIAGRAMS for the Australian Spec Cougar. I'll leave this thread sticky as a reference. Cheers Russ

See the diagram below - it is actually located in two places (neither easy to get at).

Hey Russell, this site has evolved well since my last visit a few years back. The Technical resources and Wiring-diagrams are sensational. They helped me diagnose a problem as to why horn and cruise-control aren't working
My air-bag warning light was also flashing. Diagnosis = faulty clockspring a.k.a. air-bag slide contact, which is not really a slide-contact or a spring but a coiled ribbon cable... After removing the air-bag & steering wheel and dismantling the 'clockspring', I found the ribbon cable has broken. Now I needs me a replacement part. Having difficulty finding one readily available in Oz so if you can point me in the right direction I'd sure appreciate it. Cheers |

If your local dealer can't supply one then one of the US parts houses is the go.
http://www.newfordparts.com/ifrm_browse.php A search for the Cougar clockspring shows them to be about $70 plus shipping. Cheers Russ

Heh Russell,
The wiring diagrams are great. Any hints on how to print them? I've tried and tried and only get the headers and footers Many thanks Rod |

They are designed to not be printable - if you need particular one then PM me an email address and I'll send a version that can be.
Cheers Russ
