Default FAlcon 600

I am trying to find out some info on a falcon 600 wagon i have just purchased. It is a 1969 xt. Trying to find info like original trim details, colour etc. The trans code (S), paint code (BC2), and trim colour (Y3) dont even match falcons standard codes so am having difficulties tracing details. I know they did somethings different in response to the market (to counter the zephyrs, etc) but that is all i can find out. Has 600 badges on the glovebox and front guards.
Please can someone enlighten me!!!

Are you sure it's 600. Falcon 500 was all I knew and grew up driving, all be it an XW wagon.

Here is a link to the XT brochure on this site:

definitely a 600. have found a bit of info such as they had factory front discs and different trims but as am restoring one it would be awesome to find out as much as possible. unfortunately doesnt seem to be much info around. Have found out it was produced on meadowbanks secondary line. would it still be nz assembled then???

The trim code Y3 will be a variant of Palomino - that is to say it will be that colour but in a different material to the two Australian options.

The transmission could be anything - it doesn't match any code used here that I am aware of although why they would bother stamping something different (or using something different) for a small market is beyond me.

The paint code returned nothing from PPG's decoder so it is no doubt something else unique to the NZ market.

Cheers
Russ

From an old thread:

"In NZ a 600 was a car with all the extras for NZ including Heater,Radio,Bumper overriders,3.6motor & discs on front."
