Hey All,
Helping my my late old mans partner sell his old 61 Ford Truck. As can be seen in the pics she's in need of a resto to bring her up and back on the road. I don't know to much about it and wouldn't have a clue when last it ran. The body however is good with minimal rust add it's been kept under cover and out of the weather. Yes that would have been my guess also....... f600............. looks like last reg was november 2000?
Dunno what its worth as is, but I have seen an f600 with 20 foot tray for a few thousand a couple of years ago, if ihad room for that, I would take it off your mates hands in a second. |

It's definitely an F600. Or 500.
It's worth somewhere between $2 to $5k. It would be worth significantly more if it was an F100 but this has ha different and heavier chassis, and more obviously the larger front guards.

To find out what it is, you will need to look at the ID plates. Once you have this information, you can then correlate it back to the below

That looks to be in way too good a condition for a rat rod (rat truck?)
Something like this (hot rod/race car carrier) would be a better use. Can't help you with what it's worth though, sorry.

seem to go between $2000 and $5000 but tow truck back actually kills value so dont know ,at a guess between $1500 and $3000 unfortunatly the tow rig means its shortened chassis but with big chassis springs and wheels so needs a fair bit spent to get it back as a tray of usefull size, still if i had cash id be keen on it so there is hope for reasonable sale price as its all about location , due to cost of transport to bring big items to your door.always the killer now.especially if you cant fit them on a tandem trailer.
Just had another look at pics, cab seems to be in such nice order id clean it up and take better pics it could go for higher price just due to fact that panel work will be very minimal,id love it but moneys short,

could you not cut the crane off, and then use some of the long pieces cut up to make the frame of a bed and get some timber or steel for tray bit and have a tray truck?
might be a bit high with those guards but they might be able to be cut and lowered a tad?? would look absolutely awesome as a big tray truck in matt black edit just noticed it was a tipper (on rego disc) put high sides on it as a flat bed and have an awesome tipper truck??

Old trucks like this not just F100's are also becoming collectable......Internationals/Fords/Dodges/Bedfords.........These were the original types of trucks that started the Australian trucking industry...........This one in such reasonable condition and if it runs and drives would surely pull 5k....
Some fresh paint and a good clean maybe even 10k. Ther are vintage truck shows here and ther around the country now nowadays. Mind you it would be bloody expensive to run if its a petrol motor. Seeing more and more articles in the truck mags about all the old school inters, bedfords etc. Definitely try get her running, give it a wash and try drag it to a regional truck show.....would gather a lot more interest if you wanted to sell it id say.

The more i look at it, the more i think "barn find", crikey it is in nice order for its age, sell he crane and hydraulics at the machinery auctions, have the truck detailed, it is a restorers dream, if i had a small business i would even think about fixing it up for work again.

Thanks for the info guys. The crane has been pretty much grafted on there for idle use (was used for a variety of jobs) as it wasn't ever really a crane.
It was a tipper, hydraulics and all, so turning into a flatbed wouldn't be all that hard. I'll try to get a few better shots when I'm next out there and have a bit of a tinker and see what's what.

You just dont seem to see many of the early F series around anymore. I got my truck licence in an F700. Had a 390 V8 and went like a rocket.
