How you going to go with your warranty Liri with lowering it surely it would void it.

But the components are not in any kind of failure where you have kept the stock in for back up where it doesn't void the warranty, am I correct? By the way, love your fiesta! Is it Zetec? If so, it is the same one I will get tomorrow afternoon!

Rather than start a new thread ill post it here.
Does the Ws zetec have lower springs than the CL? The reason i ask is because i have read on a english fiesta forum that ford was allowing a guy to put lowering springs on his ST aslong as they was bought from ford and this would not void his warranty.

Of course here in Australia no such arrangement through Ford Dealerships is available but I would doubt that lowering the car 30mm - 35mm would affect warranty. Personally with the current exchange rate I would just purchase Eibach's from Euro Parts in Germany and airfreight them over ... $241 + freight = cheap as! .... those same springs in Australia are very expensive, last quote I got was over $600 just to supply them! .. http://www.european-parts.net/catalo...roducts_id=902 |

My WQ is lowered on Eibach's with absolutely no problem whatsoever, looks just how it should have come out of the factory standard imo. Coilovers will cost you a lot more money than lowered springs but you do have the ability to adjust the height on each corner independently and they will adjust either higher or lower than just lowered springs which are of course a set ride height. The more expensive Coilovers also give you the ability to change the damper settings, ie: how hard or soft the ride itself is. Bear in mind though that even at the softest damper setting most coilovers are generally a harder ride than lowered springs ... coilovers are more for track use and high performance street cars. Personally I think lowered springs on a WS is the best way to go. |

Buying aftermarket springs though will void my warranty
thats why i was wondering about the zetec springs if they are lower than the CL then i would buy them from ford to avoid voiding my warranty.

They have made a HUGE improvement to the car, it has dropped around 30-35mm all round. There is hardly any gap between the top of the tyre and the guard. The ride it a little firmer and I notice more bumps now through the car, but that is to be expected with the springs. In the future I will get new shocks for the ride height. If anyone is thinking of lowering their Fiesta I strongly recommend these springs through Dave (Zetec Dave) as he was very helpful and provides great customer service and price. Cheers Dave!!

Cheers for that Vision Zetec. Hope you enjoy your rides new stance, looks and performance.
From memory Vision Zetec had the standard 16" alloy wheels. The spring set will lower your vehicle by 35mm and applies to all WS Fiesta models. Hope this helps. Regards, Dave |

I've lowered my WQ the same amount and have 17's on the car with no problems. No rubbing on guards etc.

I've had a few minor incidents, but I'm extremely cautious when driving into dips or around curbs. You're spot on with the concrete parking strips though, they are quite high can if you drive all the way up they can easily be taller than the front lip spoiler! I for one couldn't lower my car as I'm scared enough as is with the roads around Toowoomba.

There seem to be plenty of new cars that have low front bumpers/plastic lips.
Having always had lowered/performance cars I'm used to taking driveways etc on larger angles to stop scraping... Its the same with the front of the Fiesta. Just have to be careful... Even though it can be annoying... And those cement strips are just too high... You always have to stop short with those. |

Looks the biz, but my driveway is a shocker (look of my WP's rear bumper!) so not for me. If only council made curbs so that normal cars, along with massive 4WD's, could handle them!
Looks great man. Makes the standard rims look so much tighter too. |

Vision Zetec - it looks awesome! Are you going to leave it it is for now, or processing to get chrome rims on?

My good mate of a mechanic (who installed the springs really cheaply, that place I showed you in Ringwood Dave!) has ordered a straight through muffler to replace the one on the back. I'm not after an over the top note but just a more decent one than stock, will report back this Friday when I get it done. Not sure what to do about the tip tho, we are thinking leaving it hidden to complement the tidy/de-badged look at the back. What do you guys think?
