Default What is wrong with the F6X?

On the weekend I had to transport a few family members to a function and as the Z has only 2 seats I had to borrow a car.

I got a loan of the demo F6X from my friendly local FPV dealer for a couple of days.

What a GREAT car.

Normally I don't particularly like "shoe boxes" but this thing goes like the clappers, is smooth and quiet even on crap roads and is a tardis. (bigger on the inside than the outside).
It looked pretty good too with its "cobra" colour scheme.

So I took it back today ans of course they bunged it on me to buy it.

$60k drive away, down from 80 something. Apparently they are not selling and I cannot understand why.

So what is wrong with the F6X

so what about the SRT8 Jeep, they seem to be selling a few of them, and the Porsche Turbo, i know pretty big price difference, and the badge but still i reckon an F6X would be a good alternative

The SRT8 Jepp is soooo quick...I was fortunate enough that our dealership got a demo car for a week

It got so flogged (mainly by us) and we ended up selling one out of it..our dealrship is a small country dealership and we have only sold to srt8 jepps

but 7 or 8 SRT8 300c's they are amazing cars...i love em

Cheers,

Cheers,
I have to agree there, I saw one the other week, the driver was giving it a bit of stick. I have never seen a 4WD accellerate like that, very impressive.
What are they worth?

jeep = 4x4 pedigree, in the general publics eye, this is the 4x4 to get.

porsche cayene turbo = rich soccer mums wanting a porsche that will keep them safe.

i'd have to say the F6X is a bit of a specialty car, and hence only a small populus would be interested in buying one

For $60k, that'd be less than a TT Ghia.

How many kms on it, and what dealer if you don't mind me asking.

IMO, it just doesn't look fpv. It really just has the F6 engine in it, plus the extra cost. If I was going to buy one (which I was tossing up before I got the Kia - I know I know, big sway), I was going to get the Ghia TT. Now if it had the boss bonnet + front bar, etc... maybe, but how "tough" can you make an SUV look? They may have done up they clay models and they could have turned out looking like a joke. Either way, it's the lack of tough look for the extra cost.

Way too expensive initially, $80k for a terri.
The interior colours in my opinion are foul, trying to be too sporty and does not work with the rest of the car.
In todays environment, too thirsty on fuel.

$65k, around $70k drive away is more realistic, I do not see them as worth more than the new F6.

Another indicator is they are based on territory, which has seen a 25% decline in sales over the last 12mths. They came out too long after the release of the base vehicle. The GT came out within months of the release of the BA, the F6 was later but it was a natural progression from XR6T and GT combined, the market was there. Ford and FPV waited to long to release Terri turbo and F6X, by that time Terri was already at the end of the current model life span, maybe it should have been timed with the release of a new look model.

Just not an FPV in my eyes, they look very tacky and cheap. That said though ive never drivin one so i cant comment on that side of it, but your own personal touches added to an F6X might change my mind. Each to their own

they are the only territory i would buy if i had to buy one...purely for the fact they have brakes that actually stop you before you hit something....

I'd say not enough external visual clues to link it to the the other FPV models and not enough "extras" apart from performance to justify the higher price over a TTG. Too little, too late...basically...and a great pity because it's a fantastic car. And with the FG I6 turbo's at 270kw, why pay far more for a vehicle which should have been updated at least 12-18 months ago and I mean the Terry's in general?

Honestly I don't mind them but the interior is a bit funky - in a bad way. Correct me if my memory isn't quite up to date but it has a very ordinary grey interior with black and white seats. It just appears a bit mixed up and slapped together.

Good family car though and if the prices were better, the interior better and it was less thirsty I would seriously consider it.

Far too expensive, needs same powertrain as FG F6, from the outside they look bloody ordinary. Looks a like a stock turbo territory with awful wheels.

Id buy one, but i prefer the look of the ghia, inside and out.. New ghias are rare these days, dealers dont seem to stock them in big numbers anymore :(

It looks exactly like a Territory Turbo Ghia. Theres not much special about it aprt from slightly more powerful engine and brembo brakes.

How so? At least the GT has very different front bar, rear bar, side skirts and boot spoiler : : :

In my opinion they should have put the money to better use, F6-P for a start, GTHO would do. I can see the F6X and Force 6/8 ending up on the "what were they thinking?" wall.

i honestly didnt know that the force 6 exsisted until last week i think fords main focus should be advertising instead of extreamly powerful 4wd's

Personnly I could afford one, but would I buy one? No. To be completley honest I think it is image/badge thing. It is looks too closley related (to the average joe) to the base model fleet Territory. Could get a nice second hand euro for $80K. Also this just being personal opinion but I think just a normal non turbo Terri Ghia is already a great car for much less $$$ - I dont see the point of a performance SUV - bit of an oxymoron to me (once again just personal opinion).
