So the story goes drivers can shame others who have been seen "allegedly' doing the wrong thing on the roads by registering their rego plate on this website.

Theres a story in today Sunday Telegraph about it.

that was for a commercial vehicle in SA with the plates WKN245...

I just had to go out and check the plates on my effy as they also start with WKN lol..

Taxis Combined Ford Falcon wagon on Darlinghurst Rd, Kings Cross with defective brake light.

I would be more woried about that guy writing down 30+ Numberplate/Car details whilst driving along than a Taxi with a blown brake light. Half of those "Ratings" are probably made up anyway.

These sort of ideas, (including the dob in a hoon line), are not on. Although you will have people who are doing the wrong thing dobbed in when they may deserve it these systems will encourage people to dob in anyone who happens to upset them by something simple just because they are having a bad day, (we are human we all stuff up from time to time), people will exaggerate things to the police or worse some people WILL use it to target people they have something against, (getting their friends & family to put in false or exaggerated dangerous driving reports on someones number plate).

If video evidence people hand in of someone hooning in a car can be seen to have been taken by the driver / dobber on a camera phone etc. from the drivers seat of their car they should themselves be charged with dangerous driving. And the dob in a hoon info that states video evidence of a hoon will be used in prosecuting that hoon WILL incite people to do just that eg. Pull out their phone and drive one handed while videoing with the other.

Leave policing the roads to the police.
