Default Help ANTS !!!!

Hey all,

On my AU II Wagon i have an ant problem. First noticed it when I got the car back from Ford after doing some more rust repairs. Dont you love living near the ocean?

When I inspected the car when I got it back I found a lot of ants, probably in the hundreds in sitting on the door sill. Got out a clean terry towl and brushed them away. I told Ford and they took a note of it. But now the ants are back. Rang my dealer and was told that it was my problem. Since it has been week or two since I picked the car up.

So how do I get rid of ants? My dealer is not helping me out. I dont really want to spray mortein all over the paint and through the car. I cant seem to find a nest but they always keep appearing.

Cheers
Chief

see if you can watch them......you'll see where there coming from eventually................... just follow the trail back

I had some nice smelly thing in my car, Ambi-pur style whatsit, bloody ants were EVERYWHERE on the falcon, so in desperation, I took the smelly thing outta the car and left it on the bench. Next day - swarm on the friggin smelly.

Hence: if you have some kind of odourous substances in your car, remove them poste haste.

The car is kept immaculate with no smelly things. I think they may be behind the front quarter guard. How do I get there to attack them?

Had the same thing on my sisters EL a few years ago. There were thousands of the buggers.
Used a gerhni and just carefully aimed with the door open. They didn't come back after that, although there were thousands of ants on the floor that were mad once the water dried up.
Point is, using the gerhni got rid of the chemical scent ants leave behind as a way to find their new home. Try the fly spray, it shouldn't harm the paint.
Best of luck.

Try a product called Ant-Sand (Mortein I think). It's like fine grit, sprinkle it on their tracks & they carry it back to their nest. Then watch them go ballistic! They'll be gone in a matter of hours.

baby powder kills ants.
leaves your car smelling like a new born, ant free vehicle.
not sure about letting it get wet though? but certainly sprinkle it inside the car.

You've heard of a rusty car being described as being full of white ants ... well ... what do you expect?

We had an ant problem down on the farm a few years back. We ended up creating a total vaccum and blew those ants right out...

i had ants hte other week in my car (the little crazy type)

turns out there was water in hte seals at the bottom of the door it self

i just squeezed it out (ran hand along hte seal to push water out of the breather holes)

as the ants were thirsty! due to the long stint of no rain we had up here in qlds SE
