Default Festiva Service manual ?

Hello I'm new.

Does anyone have any service/workshop manuals for a 2nd gen festiva? and if so would you be willing to share ?

All I want to do is remove panels so I can get to the wiring at the back of he cd player.

Any help would be great.

I've got the 1986-1993 manual so I'm not sure whether that's what you are calling 2nd generation.

You don't need to remove the instrument fascia to get the head unit out but there is a special tool (P/N 49 D066 801) which is a pair of U-shaped prongs that fit into small holes on the front of the unit - you could probably make one as the prongs just release small tabs when you hold them apart.

This will give you access to the plugs and wiring at the rear of the unit.

Thanks mate. I have a 94, I managed to get the aftermarket unit out, of course the previous owner spliced.into the wiring loom so it's a total mess back there! I'm intending to install a android double din head unit. Wish me luck! My mechanic mate is going to check his shop for a service manual....if I get my hands on one i'll be sure to post it here.

I have the 94-2004 manual as well if it's of any help.

Here is the exploded diagram of the instrument panel trim and associated bits.

The instructions aren't that bad:

Centre Panel (12 in diagram)
Remove the 7 retaining screws
Pull the assembly forward to remove it
Disconnect the lighter socket

Side Panel (10 in diagram)
Pull forward to remove (it has 4 hooks and a couple of pins to retain it)

I found a supplier who can PRINT these manuals, I had the schematics actually printed new, they use the same printer Ford uses. Here is the site where I got the manuals. Joanne at Computer Outpost is more than happy to answer your enquiries. https://www.computeroutpost.com.au/
