Brand new E type Jag built from NOS parts

This guy built a brand new 1960's E Type (my favourite car of all time) entirely from old new parts, including a V12 motor and leather interior. There was only a couple of things he had to source 2nd hand, like a windscreen.

I wonder what it would cost to a new Falcon XT out of parts from the dealer, 100k ?

I think wheels did this with a commodore using TAFE kids in the early 90s when you could buy a bodyshell. Turned out a Commdore exec was worth 20k cost about 100k in parts.

In the UK it will be easy. They will even allow the correct compliance plate to be stamped with a VIN in sequence to the last car made.

Thats awesome. NOS being genuinely new old stock or are they still making the parts?

BMW did a similar thing with a 70's 2002tii. 90 percent (over 4000) of the parts they used were new from the dealer. I think they did it to show that they dont forget about their old cars and that they still make parts from them. Which is true.... i can go into a dealer and get a brand new dash albeit a little pricey but its there if i want it.

With MGB's you can buy a brand new bodyshell, and put just about everything new in it including a Rover V8 engine and interior with seats. You just need a donor car for the odd hardware and assorted bits. In the UK there are businesses manufacturing the new parts and competing against eachother which makes the prices very reasonable. Also you can upgrade the suspension to fully IRS, front telescopics and even power steering and brakes.
