Draining Gas tanks

Hey guys ive just picked up an old automotive gas tank to use for my Air Compressor... however its 3/4s full of gas does any body know how or anywher that can drain the tank in the South Eastern Suburbs of Victoria... cheers

Take it to an open feild/paddock/area (no one else around) somewhere and open the service valve half a turn and walk away for 'at least' half an hour.....You will hear the gas releasing....then when you can't hear anymore open the valve all the way and listen for more....If none it should be virtually empty....But take extreeme care....No smoking or sparks!!! And don't let the gas touch your skin as it will cold burn you.... :baby bott

Don't do this, it will not remove all gas from the cylinder. Take it to a certified LPG installer and he'll happily purge the gas from the tank. To remove all LPG an inert gas like Argon needs to be put into the tank.

at a mechanic workshop i worked at they did it down the drain at the front of the workshop i would take it to a paddock aswell
