apart from stickers there isn't much about James' coupe that isn't race spec..

but it's all modern race spec, not mid-70's stuff.. getting close to what i'd consider my ultimate road car

I'm considering getting one done for me as well and i've been told yours will be well & truly finished for Echuca and he may even have another finished to take as well.
Any news on the XA?

Hopefuly both of my ones should be finished by echuca.

Since the XC has no interior and i cant be bothered to try and find everything for it i reckon building a race replicar would be something different. And i reckon the moffat federation falcon would look sweet.

And still no news on the XA.

there was a full issue on the car in aus muscle car magazine issue 26.

Dave
the car that burnt to the ground was already in city ford colours - the blue brut car was not raced many times. i had thought only at bathurst, but there are pictures with a black square around the number in this thread, so it must have raced at least twice. i thought it was green at sandown, he probably wouldn't have raced at phillip island, so the pic may be from surfers
to my knowledge a crank shaft pulley broke when the car was around a lap and a half ahead - i could be wrong, but i seriously doubt moff would have taken a silly chance with parts. the guy was the ultimate professional and one of the main reasons the sport is so professional today

The BRUT 33 replica has been in Australia for over a year and was at the 2008 Geelong All ford day.

The race replica's built I know of are

* Brutt 33 - XB
* City Ford - XB
* Goss Bathurst winner '74 - XA
* JRS cool car - XC
* Moffat Bathurst Cobra - XC
* Melfords - XB
* Moffat Bathurst winner '73 - XA
* Murray Carter (shell) - XA

That's all I can think of at the moment.
Some good ones have been taken, but there are still a lot waiting to be done.
Cheers
Todd.

Was it built here or always been here - I was just basing my comment on what look like US plates and the flags and JCPenney store in the background.

Never ceases to amaze me how many coupes have ended up in the states (looks like 3 together in that pic) – goes to show the appeal of that classic muscle car shape. Funny (but good) that one ended up coming back though.

Here's a good book to get if you like your racing hardtops

Its available from Phase3posters.com. Its a nice read with many cool pics.

The Bond French car above did start out as the Dickson Big Ears car. It is plated as an XB GT, just had the XC upgrade. I remember my friend buying it after it had been advertised in the trading post for months with no-one wanting it. It was still wearing its worn out livery and he drove it on the road for many years that way.
Now its a completely different beast. Absolutely beautiful to look at, and a complete weapon to drive

Yeah they say Samson magnums on the back, The one pictured is a 15x10 and i have 2 15x8 also but the 8s are magnum 2s so they are a little bit different but by the time ive polished them up they should look sweet. The 15x10s are a funny offset though im running a xy dif(it came in the car when i bought it) And the widest tyres i can fit are 265s

[QUOTE=Jars]Was it built here or always been here - I was just basing my comment on what look like US plates and the flags and JCPenney store in the background.

This picture was taken when the car was in the US, at this time it was owned by a mate of mine in Florida who has a number of Falcon Coupes over there. I purchased this one and another from him and shipped them back to Australia late 2007. There is a pic of the car in the current issue of AMC when it was at Phillip Island recently, I also had it at the Muscle Car Masters last Sept. Car was made into the Brut33 replica in the USA by another mate over there who took it to the Ford 100th at Dearborne in 2003. There is a full storey on the build up and car in issue 9 of AMC.

It will be at the Hardtop Anniversay this September along with a replica of Moffat's City Ford coupe plus the original French Morley Ford XC and 75 XB Goss coupe. Those that attended the last Echuca event still talk about the laps John Goss did in the XB at Decca, I know it was the highlight of the weekend for me and looking forward to it again this year.

HI Dave. hope you don't mind me filling your thread with my squiggles but if I could do another build and an original idea, I'd do something like this. Have you come up with an idea for your beast yet?
